There aren’t any real, practical concerns with the NFL drafting directly out of high school that don’t exist in any other job. Are there real, practical concerns to Northrop Grumman hiring and 18 year old as a welder? Absolutely. Why is the NFL any different?

Why is it your concern what happens to these kids and their families? Everyone involved has agency in making their own decision. The kid chooses to go pro. The league decides to sign them. That is working perfectly. Sometimes it doesn’t work out. That’s life.
