I’m totally fine with this casting. Seriously. If there’s one thing DC/WB has done as well as Marvel/Disney it’s solid casting. I mean, they waste it, but everyone has been on point. Even Ben Affleck turned out to be a good call as Batman. So, yeah, they’ve earned the benefit of a doubt in this regard.

He was not the problem with the movies. I’m honestly really bummed they’re apparently not giving him a chance to actually shine.

Say what you will about the movies, Cavill was a good Superman given what he had to work with.

Superman has the same problem that Deadpool originally had in Wolverine: Origins. The actor is right for the part, but no one else involved seems to understand what makes the character work.

I do not share your pessimism. I think DC is right on track. MoS and BvS were great films despite the critical reception and brought in tons of money. JLA will be awesome and WW2 is surely coming. The biggest issue DC will have is the age of the actors and their ability to quickly get films to market.
