A) That's an incorrect understanding of how the media works. The current interest in Redskins and cultural appropriation is being driven by the Oneida Nation who has begun a major campaign. This is coming to the forefront now because someone with money who didn't used to have money is launching a PR campaign. Natives…
A) Actual American Indians are leading the charge on the Redskins thing. The media is responding to issues raised by tribes — wouldn't it be wrong for white journalists to tell actual Native Americans what they should really be worrying about? Isn't that just a perpetuation of the same problem we've had for four…
Basically, this:
I would agree that it's not helpful to hysterically scream at people that they should not adopt native symbols for their own personal enrichment, but refuse to tell them why.
Isn't it the same problem though? The reason people feel fine to appropriate Native symbols for their own personal enrichment is because they are unaware and uncaring that those symbols have significance.
You pay cash, take the dog to the vet, never hear from her again.
I would've really loved if my wife and her bridesmaids did this. Except for my sister. She was a bridesmaid, so, you know, don't want that. And my wife wouldn't want me looking at any of them.
But if they do — who cares?
What does barely together mean?
Seriously, how do we have a conversation about Guy Fieri without watching the video of the time he got in a screaming fight with his hairdresser at SFO?
So the scandal is that the NCAA's lawyers didn't call who Tom wanted them to? I assume it occurred to the lawyers that they might want to, and if they didn't, I assume they had reason. But if they just didn't think of it, and really did need someone, yes, they're stupid.
So, you convinced me that the NCAA should've called some student athletes to convince you, if you had been on the jury, but really? Maybe they didn't call any because it's obvious that of the thousands of athletes, only a few hundred have any sports career ambition and everyone else is there for the fun and/or way to…
I loathe the show, so I don't actually know what she does, but even if you can't get it on the network's site, it shows up elsewhere, fairly quickly. As quickly, honestly, as you need it.
I should add that we do have a leaf antenna, so we can watch broadcast on our actual television if we really need to... but in terms of content that we NEED somewhere other than while we sit in front of our television set — it's not much.
Or just don't watch broadcast TV.
Seriously, there's what, six or seven people per row? Some less? And maybe ten rows?
I took him as saying he thought that there was a lot of fake outrage, which is correct. But he managed to say it in a way that was fairly outrageous.
I'm inclined to accept Hill's for the same reason, but I doubt the Oldman interview was necessarily relaxed. He actually probably was feeling under enormous pressure to be edgy and raw.
Well, all concerns are off the table until you drum up enough people to care about that to change that... THEN we'll talk about Dan Snyder.
