So, it is just me then who has all their comment threads appear in one column instead of two? :( Those two posts are directly above each other on my computer, with nothing to the left or right of them...and there is plenty of space for two columns!

I'm not a neurologist or a psychologist, but I think the point he's trying to make isn't a linguistic one. I think he's trying to say it's worth distinguishing between a sort of effortless "I think about what I want to happen and it happens" mind control, and something like this where the machine detects you thinking…
I can't believe I haven't seen a GIF of that until now. Love Hades!
It sounds like there was a fight over whether to keep the numbers, and no one really agreed on anything. I think strategy is more of an overall method of obtaining a goal (long-term, big picture), while a tactic is a specific method of accomplishing something (short-term, details). So what I'm hearing is that he…
I think you're defining innovation too narrowly. Innovation doesn't always mean completely redesigning the entire game from scratch. That can often result in some cool, interesting games, but they're usually also very flawed in some way. The best results usually come from building on past successes but adding your own…
Isn't a secret demo kind of the antithesis of everything that E3 stands for? It would be kind of strange for Bethesada to go to a big media-frenzy event and then hide something there.
Still seems like too much to me compared to Netflix. For $40, I could go buy at least two old PS3 games or maybe 3–4 commonly available PS2 games (although not rarer ones that are hard to find). Netflix's monthly cost is cheaper than the cost of buying most of the things you can watch on Netflix. Even with those…
$40 a month is a bit much I think, but otherwise this is a sound idea for sure. Netflix charges $8 a month, which is roughly a third of what a single DVD costs (not even counting how much more expensive full seasons of the TV shows are), while $40 is more than half of what a single video game costs. I think $15–25 a…
The Wiimote/nunchuck actually isn't bad, once you get used to it—at least for me. I used to be a Gamecube controller stalwart, but I didn't have four Gamecube controllers in college, so two people always had to play with wiimote/nunchucks. I ended up using it enough that I got used to it, and now it actually feels…
I said the same thing a couple weeks ago, so I'm kind of jealous that you get all the recommendations while no one even notices my poor unapproved comment. But you're totally right. I think Microsoft's big issue here is really mostly one of presentation. They're trying to force people to do things on the basis that it…
Exactly. Smash is mainly a call-your-friends-over-and-play type of game for me, and the 3DS doesn't work well for that unless all your friends also have a 3DS. I'll probably pick up a Wii U eventually, and this will likely be one of the first titles I'll get.
I'm not a big fan of the Xbox One, but "the One" (which sounds slightly creepy, but makes some sense at least) is better than "Xbone," which I find to be one of the worst shorthand references for a product in my memory. Xbone sounds like the name of a two-bit bad guy on a cheesy children's TV show...
Yeah, I was just saying the 1/2 seems kind of odd. Where I live, teenagers can get their permit as soon as they turn 15. I guess a year is kind of a long time to have a permit though.
There was a gameplay video that didn't look turn based at all. Personally, I'd prefer something more along the lines of XII or XIII (I know, everyone else hates it, but imo the battle system actually is pretty decent), but it looks pretty good so far anyway.
Yeah, but my whole point is you should be able to choose. Turn off the cloud library if you would rather just check-in from the disc.
Fifteen and a half to start driving? That's...an odd number. Here we can get a learner's permit at fifteen and start driving by ourselves at sixteen.
Well, the show he is in is more than 2–3 years old. :) He's from Arrested Development.
Yeah, but why not allow people to also use the disc to authenticate their game if they have the disc? Then you get the benefits of digital and the benefits of the disc. You could still be blocking used games sales or force people to deactivate their digital copies before they sell it.
I've seen a number of people say that, but it doesn't make that much sense to me. I see the argument if you're playing exclusively from the hard drive all the time. But when you DO have the disc, why still the need for a check-in? I'd imagine it would be easy enough to have two separate ways to check in: online or…
Lucas is my favorite too, but I'd imagine they're more likely to cut second characters from a game, and Ness is more iconic than Lucas is.
