I love your trailer idea, but I doubt it will actually get used because it would probably be confusing to people who didn't know what was happening. If you didn't know beforehand, you would probably just think it was a random bunch of space marines with no connection to each other.

Does Katherine ever actually text you pictures in the game? I didn't get any from her (aside from that one the cell phone company sends saying they were returning pictures in storage)...but maybe I just didn't say the right things.

Is that how it goes? I wish someone had told me that before I got this restraining order...

The begging is tongue-in-cheek. It is an attempt to get her name out there and get noticed, which will help with meeting people. The things you're saying she should do aren't mutually exclusive with this.

Yeah, I thought it was just catchy enough to be memorable. If I was in charge of hiring at Valve, I would at least go look at her website or her resume to check out what she had.

Exactly. I don't understand why people feel the need to bring other people down just because they are hopeful and are putting themselves out there. It almost feels like people are saying she should give up on her dream because they can't get their dream job. I say we should encourage her for trying to do what she

Ah, lame. Oh well, I am not bothered by anything enough to hide it.

The "three times" were:

I don't see where you got that impression at all. She never says that Valve owes her anything.

It isn't about what people would invest or about how qualified she is. I don't work in the game industry, I don't know what it takes but I'll take people at their word that she isn't qualified. But that isn't what I'm talking about.

Why so much hate for this? Its a cute video. She wants to work for Valve. What's wrong with that? I read all these comments ragging on her as if she posted a rant about how unfair it is that she doesn't have a job with Valve. Maybe she won't get a job at Valve fresh out of college, but what's wrong with trying?

I don't really know much about them, but I saw another comment that said the Shetland Islands are known for their lack of internet connectivity. Which would be kind of ironic (I mean, the fact that an associate of hackers was arrested there).

Actually, based on what "clockwork" said, that doesn't sound too far off. If it is like how it works in the US, then they don't actually play the game, the developers/publishers send them a video with all the questionable content on it, only they didn't include something that bumped up the rating...

Yeah I know. That's really what's prompting me to get an HDTV; my SDTV isn't terrible, but I can't read the text in games like Dragon Age and I can't see the UI in stuff like Catherine...it was supposed to come today but UPS had it sit in Louisville for twelve hours and its late...

I just found something weird though that might work—my TV has a 16:9 "mode" which basically makes the entire display letterboxed. I might try out that and see if it is playable...

If it wasn't set to 480p, I don't think it would display at all. I did double check that it was set in 4:3 rather than 16:9, but it didn't change anything. I googled it and it sounded like they just didn't implement a 4:3 mode... :(

The gameplay and the narrative are pretty much at odds—but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing. It makes you kind of fear the puzzle portions in a way; although that sounds odd because I actually do enjoy them.

I started the game last night, and I've been enjoying it. I do have an issue though: certain aspects of the UI don't show up on non-widescreen TVs. I'm getting an HDTV soon, so it shouldn't be a huge issue, but for now...

Hrm, that's interesting to know. It makes sense as consoles are basically just like computers now. I don't think I really need to go through the effort though, for the "oh shiny" I'm looking for I can just watch the intro video that runs when you turn on the game.
