The venue in my town canceled him. So relieved, for so many reasons. (a) they did the right thing, (b) I don't have to hear about assholes in my town sticking up for him and (c) don't have to stand out in the rain and picket. Though now I"m wondering if I should drive to his next venue (wherever it is) to do that.

A-freakin-men.

A-freakin-men.

So, wait, if I'm inviting coworkers, are their children my family too? Because I love my coworkers, but I'd never met their kids, and inviting them all would've meant I had to invite fewer adult guests... and these kids were people I'd never met and why would I invite people I'd never met to my wedding? But I loved

Extremely fair. We had a kids-of-family-only rule. Your rule rules. But sadly, be prepared for some passive-aggressive backlash. Just remember, you're right and your Jezebel family supports you.

That's what they do. People are so flipping oblivious. I politely explained our "children of family only" policy to all our coworkers who were invited, and yet one showed up with three kids. Three. Three kids.

I rarely see inner envelopes any more. I see outer envelopes addressed to "Mr & Mrs. Smith" or to "The Smiths" or to "Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Family." Sadly, no matter what you do, some people won't get it. I had one couple show up to the wedding with three little kids. At that point it's like, sure, whatever, come in

Completely agree. Our rule was No Kids Except Immediate Family. When people asked about it, we explained the head count problem. A couple of people wanted to bring their kid *as* their date, and told me their babysitter problems. I made a wincy face and they figured it out, but not without a lot of guilt.

Agree! I saw the movie with my family and we all really liked it. The changes in the soundtrack are a vast improvement. The song Annie sings about her opportunity, in particular, is lovely. I even liked Cameron Diaz - my only point of disagreement with you. Good flick.

Snap circuits are awesome. My girls love em. That is a great gift. Well done. Spread the word. A++!

That is what we did with duct tape when I was in college! But now there are also whole websites and books devoted to duct tape crafts. My kid has made purses, hair bows and a portfolio out of duct tape, carefully wrapped and layered and folded. It's kind of a cool craft.

We're a pro-Frozen family, but Disney is still pissing us off. In the movie, Elsa is the awesome powerful queen, and Anna is the sweet relatable princess. My kickass daughters prefer Elsa, so they always have their eye out for good Elsa stuff. They have pointed out to me that it is much easier to find Anna merch than

Kids use it to fix up their binders and folders for school. My kids would've been happy to have it.

Good for you for taking her to a lawyer. Good for you for being a strong support for her.

You and me and several others saying that our daughters love Elsa because of her kickass powers, and being queen of a country. Whereas other commenters keep insisting that girls only like sparkles and pretty dresses. They seem to actually be arguing that girls are too dumb to appreciate a powerful superhero and

You might try having a chat with your niece about it to see if that's really all there is to it. My daughters are quite clear about loving Elsa's awesome powers and the fact that she's the leader of her country.

I absolutely agree. My girls love Elsa and we've noticed the same lack of Elsa merchandise. I think it's partly because it sells out, but I also think Disney missed the boat and assumed Anna would be the most popular seller. My girls love Anna but they want to BE Elsa.

I like Anna too. But I was responding to faille's theory about why Frozen is uber-popular, and Norwood's disagreement with her theory. What do you think about why Frozen is so popular? Superpowers? Disney marketing? Something else?

That is fantastic.

You're both right. But Disney didn't figure it out at first. Disney marketed this at first as a movie about Anna - the sweet, loving, supportive sister. But my girls love Elsa - the kickass powerful queen. They definitely love the movie because of Elsa's superpowers. In the last few months the Disney marketing
