Same here! I am stunned at what my mother will not react at and then boast about later. She even decides not to be happy for me if the triumphs are not what she wanted for me vicariously. E.g. I was up for two jobs and got the one I wanted. She wanted me to get the other one and was NOT HAPPY.
Oh, and each series works as a standalone series, so don't feel intimidated :)

Thank you so much! Yes, I think the reason it hurts so much is because I want the mom I REMEMBER to come to my wedding. But I haven't seen or spoken to that mom in years. She popped up last month and was lovely about wedding plans and then disappeared again.
