I watched a video today about how by increasing travel times with TSA checkpoints that are 70% ineffective at actually doing their job, the result is more people choose to drive instead and thus auto deaths are higher. As in, the TSA that is supposed to protect us ends up turning people towards more dangerous travel…

I personally think everyone should have to put in a year or two in something minimum-wage customer service before moving on in the work force just to understand.

I think a lot of people haven’t had a shite job as a teenager, actually. Just judging by the way people actually treat entry-level food service and retail employees, it’s obvious that some people have literally never been on the receiving end of that behavior.

My school has campus geese and they just mill about. The only thing to watch for is their poops on the sidewalks.

I think it’s possibly a bit different for a train - you know there was nothing you could have done. With a car, there’s the what ifs of “what if I had slammed on my brakes and swerved” or whatever the situation is.

As a St. Louisan, I find the definition of “midwest” is often suspect. And even if they get closer, like Tennessee/Illinois, our entire area usually gets skipped. Kansas City is lucky that it gets what it gets.

I say to people that we’re just units of labor. “Are enough employees manning the machines/desks efficiently enough to turn profits” is no different from “do we have enough lumber to make these tables”.
