There are several meanings, actually, but while the definition might recognise the religious aspect of marriage, nowhere in the definition of marriage does it limit the religion to the Abrahamic subset:
This is under the supposition that marriage happened only after the conception of the Abrahamic god. It didn’t. Marriage pre-dates Abrahamic religions by quite a bit, and in fact was originally a legal matter - a business contract - which it remains.
