I'm interested in playing this but is it integral to play the first 3 games? I don't have a PS3 or 4 for that matter but I'm always hearing so much about this game and Its story.

Modifying hardware will void the warranty. Depending on the type of mod you could also be banned from using any of the online services however there is nothing illegal about modification unless it turns your console into a bomb or something.

I didn't know that modifying an xbox was illegal. Selling pirated game yeah, but don't we have a right to mod?
