We already rent a car whenever we need to drive a long distance for a variety of reasons. The primary one is that we drive our cars into the ground and don’t trust either currently to make it on a long trip. But secondary reasons are i) you can find dirt cheap rates on rentals and ii) its nice to drive a different car.

Question: Wouldn’t you know if your hotel room was infected after the first night?

Jesus H. Christ, that first picture.

Oh the Kerbmanity!!

I know this seems stupid but it also works.

Question:

I was going to post a comment very similar to your first and then thought, “Nope, I’m old.”

It really does seem silly, but I am amazed how freeing it is to not worry about printer ink.

I recently bought a new HP printer for my home office and it offers a monthly service for ink. I pay a flat rate (one of three tiers, the cheapest being $3 a month and the most expensive $10 a month) and HP just automatically sends me ink when I start to get low.

Back in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, I remember reading about railguns in popular science magazines. At the time, the primary advantage put forth was extremely low cost (in theory) since it was basically a hunk of metal projected using only electricity.

Why?

The Model T didn’t kill horseback riding but did turn it into a hobby. The same will happen to driving.

Your right, the inability to run over a potential armed assailant is scarier than being one of the 3,397 (based on WHO statistics) deaths that occur on the road every day.

My reasoning is stupid but strangely important to me. Since I was child reading science-fictional depictions of the internet, it has always been described as individuals utilizing strange pseudonyms and never as people posting under their real name. We are now living in that future, and dagnabbit, I want to post

Bring my joy to your life and rent the Big Lebowski.

Fuck you haters.
