Hmmmm...
I was not claiming that we all should be eating locally (that's a different conversation), I was simply pointing out the flaw in Ria’s hypothetical experiment.
Your comment made me laugh. Yes, for most of human history, large population centers were found where plenty of water just falls from the sky.
Here’s the problem with that line of thinking.
I suspect we agree on the principal, I was just snarkly pointing out that she wouldn’t “have to recuse herself” as you posited.
If Scalia and Thomas see no need to recuse themselves from the Citizens United case even though they have been frequent guests of the Koch Bros at their invitation only “strategy conferences,” or Scalia sitting on cases involving groups where his wife is a member of the board of directors or going duck hunting with…
People have been saying for years that we are nearing “peak-superhero” and I dismissed them out of hand, but... damn... that calendar is insane.
You have got me thinking about this. I said the head looked like the hellbender but actually it wasn’t quite as flat on top and not quite as defined as a head. Also the legs (of course we are relying on memory and a pond with nothing to equate scale with) were pretty substantial. I would say it was a huge toad but it…
He is a criminal. But this country has a long history of people committing civil disobedience for the common good.
It was the eastern U.S. (specifically Kentucky) and that could be it, but the hind legs were much bigger than the ones in your pics. But the head is almost exactly the same shape. I also want to say the eyes were more prominent but that could be just my memory.
Your second to last paragraph is extremely important but one not given enough focus. While there are certainly fundamental issues of human liberties with regards to government mass surveillance, practically, it is the corporations that have far more information on us.
While my size estimates might be off, it definitely wasn’t a fish, unless they have started sprouting hindlegs.
Tadpoles can be big and scary.
As awesome as evolution is, sometimes the only proper response to some of its “solutions” is to go WTF?!
Disney World has an average daily attendance of over 100k and there is an armada of buses to transport guests from MCO the 30 to 45 minutes to the various resorts. A high speed version of the monrail from MCO to the Ticket and Transportation Center would be awesome.
James Bond is Batman.
I have to star this. I don’t agree with that complaint of nu-Trek but I must acknowledge a comment well crafted.
