"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

That is easy to explain.

Actually we do. And it is canon. When the 6th Doctor was put on trial, his prosecutor was Valeyard, an evil future incarnation of the Doctor. Since Smith is the 11th Doctor, then Valeyard should be the 12th, barring the inevitable retconning.

And everything I said was true. Don't you just love the Internet?

You and I have had the "optimist" versus "pessimist" discussion more than once here on io9, and to be completely honest, I ain't prepared to continue it now because.... well, my wife and kids are in bed, I have a bourbon drink in hand and the second season of Archer is waiting on Netflix.

Making the assumption that we will meet aliens and/or supernatural creatures before society progresses exponential from today. Not an even money bet from my perspective.

Really? I would love to see evidence of the church preforming marriages for same sex couples hundreds of years ago. Seriously, that would make debates ALOT easier.

Thank you. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Here you go.

I am always shocked that nobody ever picks what I consider the most obviously useful superpower.

The sad part about not thinking of the Graphic Novel section of the library is that my wife works for the library.

This thread is as good as any to ask for some advice.

Apparently Casey hasn't actually used an Apple TV for more than 5 minutes.

+1. This is an old idea and as an Apple fan, I will be the first to admit that it is entirely unoriginal.

This. I personally like to rail against the MPAA and the RIAA because of their draconian tactics. And I don't just do this online.

I hate to say it but I disagree. I had my star and hated the new system but on other Gawker sites I have noticed comments getting better. Not on Giz but certainly on io9.

And there is the other end of the scale. The simplest method for me to do something as simple as.... say eat a steak, would be to acquire one from the farm about 8 miles down the road.

I love these.

Arthur C. Clarke often wrote about how we will do things in the most complicated way possible, because, life will have become so simple and safe, that people will long for the novel.

This.
