@thenewmrssalazar: I would get a terrier mix as well- they are tons of fun, smart, great hunters, love to be outside and pretty independent. They also love to cuddle at the end of the day. I wouldn't worry too much about your cats- most dogs learn pretty quick not to mess with them.
