Don’t be a fool. Most of the games we played as kids were written in Japanese and then translated to English. Others learned English from the US/UK versions simply because they had no other choice.

Seriously. This kid has had his own iPad since he was 4, and it from the original article it sounds like he didn’t much moderation until this point. I ended up getting “game days” from my parents from a very early start and it helped teach me some seld-moderation.
My 2C on the original article: Kid’s had an iPad for 3 years. He’s 7. He’s been using the iPad since he was four years old. The father is surprised that the kid gets enraged when he finally decides to take it from him?

No, it really isn’t. It’s teaching the kid to blame a game for his desire to not be removed from it rather than recognizing that he shouldn’t get mad because it’s time to stop playing the game.
