The fact people here illegally can attend your university is something that drives these working class folks in Michigan and Wisconsin mad. Rightly or wrongly. (I’m liberal but I do think people should follow the law).

There’s a reason the EC exists. Every election being decided by California and the Northeast cities is a recipe for corrupt and single party rule. The EC makes places like Wisconsin and Michigan important, and Dems wrote them off. This is their fault.

What does any of that have to do with the article or even the election? The only way race decided this election was people being ambivalent about Trump’s comments. This was all about class and Dems ignoring working class people, plus Hillary being a bad candidate who got low turnout. Period.

The rust belt voters who gave this to Trump voted for a Black man the last two elections.

Nothing matters but the outrage now.

I hate this concept only white men can be mocked and “punched.” It just breeds anger and resentment from a section of society that needs to adjust to a changing world. Anger gets in the way of that.

All discussions of taste aside, his characters say it in contexts that make sense. Culturally, time frame, occupation, etc. Also he’s a 70's nostalgia filmmaker and that word wasn’t the “shall never be spoken ever” thing back then that it is today.

I’m what my college called a social constructionist but has other labels. I think conflict and functionalism are correct too in some ways though. Mix of all three with social construction the strongest.

The Russia news came out literally JUST NOW. If it’s true I agree it’s terrible. That doesn’t mean the cries of partisanship all weekend had evidence behind them.

Whatever your thoughts on these issues Comey testified under oath he would keep Congress updated and he had to do just that. If Clinton won and THEN he updated them it would have been a huge scandal. Let’s not see everything through a partisan filter.
