I could see him doing a quirky side movie, but not a main episode. His tone is all wrong for a core movie, in my opinion.

It’s a great look, as is Capaldi’s longer hair. Can’t wait!

Also companies will never stop trying to curb piracy. There is no scenario where they throw their hands up and go “oh well, pirate the crap out of it I guess.”

Hahaha... I like the show, I own all four seasons on blu ray, but I can’t think of a sci-fi show that squandered its potential for greatness more. You can like something and still know it could have been so much better.

I like it but also think it wasted most of its potential, and didn’t live up to its promise. It’s okay, even good at times, but it could have been great.

The worst part is they touched on that stuff here and there, very rarely, but would then immediately fall back into standard TNG/Voyager scripts again right after.

I thought it was a lot better when watching the Blu Rays too. There are some decent Voyager style stories in the first two years, I actually like the action stuff in season three and season four can be very good. Still, the whole thing stinks of wasted potential.

Star Trek: Enterprise by like a MILLION MILES.

The real shame is that there’s a very good core plot in there if you remove the stupidity and Khan B.S.

That one’s actually fine. He funded the whole think secretly hoping the Engineers can prolong his life, but he hides because he doesn’t want the others to know that’s the whole point of the expedition.

Most irritatingly stupid shite in an otherwise okay movie.

Yeah. My experience on Doctor Who forums tells me you’re about to get attacked by a certain crowd, but I totally agree with you. Season 8 felt like the Clara Show half the time. The Doctor character is why that show is successful.

I’d rather just have a movie version that ignores the TV version, honestly. But then I am mostly a movie guy.

It really has me worried. The number one way to tank a comic book movie is overstuffing it with characters.

You listed a couple arguably dumb things he did and said him having his hands full with Zod at the end makes him dark. If you’re gonna get all offensive with me at least back it up with more than that.

I don’t see how any of that makes him a “dark” character, sorry.

It looks cheesy on purpose, which I’m not sure is the tone I would have taken. Still, it looks like a fun ride.

You and I seem to agree on most everything, though I dislike Avengers because Whedon’s dialog bugs me and the battle at the end is too damn long. Loved Winter Soldier though, loved Guardians, loved the first Iron Man, loved the first Captain America movies. Most of the rest are okay, I don’t think I really dislike any

Subjective opinions aside and all that, please tell me how Superman in that movie is a dark character. He’s really not. The movie is dark around him often enough, but he is the good-natured boyscout surrounded by that darkness.

I’m not saying box office equals quality, I’m just saying “grimdark” obviously has a large audience. Because of Marvel’s success some fans are insisting everything has to be like that, but it doesn’t.
