It really comes down to what you think is "fun" though. I thought The Dark Knight was fun as hell, and much more fun than that crappy Flash show. It's all subjective.

I refuse to believe this could be done.

I'm enthused. I loved DoFP, a truly brilliant film. I'm not a comic book reader at all so I only care about seeing good movies, and DoFP was a damn good movie. An extended cut with Brian Singer commentary would get my blu ray dollars on day one for sure.

Makes sense for you to come here Patrick. I look forward to reading your stuff, which is how your "stuff" is best. I remember you hypothesizing about video game writing "going away" but I don't think it is, and Kotaku is a place where that's certainly true.

I liked Topher. It was supposed to be good-natured nerd versus evil nerd. I thought that came across quite well. I never read the comics though, don't know how much of a departure that was.

I love the first Cap too, glad to see another fan. Cap 2 was amazing, and GoG was very fun. Not sure either is as good a film as Iron Many though, but I could see enjoying them more.

Mediocre? I would put most of those MCU origin films higher than The Avengers in quality movie ranking. Iron Man is still MCU's best film, and it was their first, which is probably a bad thing.

I just stop at Season 8. That season's finale is remarkably well done as an end to the entire series. If you can just ignore Season 9 completely then you're good to go.

Box office success aside, Burton is the quintessential late 80's and early 90's director for me. Like a lot of directors he kind of had his time where his voice was important, and then that ended. Stuff like his Chocolate Factory remake is especially embarrassing, IMO.

Do they ask about anal sex for heterosexuals? If you had anal sex within a year as a heterosexual are you banned?

Oh God how I wish you were listened to.

"So damn awesome" is not how I would describe Agents of SHIELD in any season, at any time.

I thought it was awful. Therefore I said it was awful. That's how opinions work.

They hit that gypsy before writing the awful Into Darkness.

That movie's main "issue" with most movie-goers was feeling like an episode of TNG with a bigger budget, so I don't think budget or effects would have changed the reaction. That film kind of encapsulates Trek's movie issue, which is that the movie audience is often very different from the show audience.

"Can we make this series any less exciting for old Trek fans?"

I don't have a pic of it because I can't find one, but...

Well, given the creator's comments and such it wasn't intended to look like rape. So yes, it was a failure in execution, not as intent. The way it was done it looked more like rape than reluctant sex to a lot of viewers, which is all about how it was written and filmed.

I loved the last movie, The Wolverine, and it was filmed for PG-13. Granted I watched the director's cut, which had added blood, but still. Great movie.

There are good expansions and bad expansions, just like there are good and bad games. Dishonored, Deus Ex HR, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, Fallout New Vegas and Bioshock 2/Infinite all got some great expansion content if you ask me. I'm sure there are many more.
