I'm just reeling from an evening that started with a Newhart rerun and then progressed to Julia Duffy's appearance in Looking and Peter Scolari's big part in Girls. I feel really really old now, although kudos to Julia for (clearly) not having any facelifts or major plastic surgery.

That opening is straight out of the Gaye song.

Good.

Plus the clever little "Bear" dig at San Francisco as well!

She seems GENUINELY happy with the dogs.

Boy, does she remind me of her mother in that last shot.

Back in the 60s, before we really talked about the concept of gay marriage, my aunt's friend Syd (her name was Sydney) and Marv got married. The invitations came back from the printer with the names "Syd and Mary."

Gee, I don't recall all this fuss when Colin Powell did the same thing.

Poor thing can never wear a blue dress in public again, can she?

Sudden images of Dr. Smith as celery.

She taught at SF State when I was there. Always wondered what arguing a grade with Angela Davis might be like.

Of course this is the same Stacy Dash who assured us this week that Mitt Romney was running and that his delay in announcing that was "a chess move."

She's always good. I'm loving her now in the Affair.

Thornbirds is amazing. First, it pretty much renders (at least for me) the Catholic Church a metaphor for homosexuality - watch the scenes with Chamberlain and Plummer. And Barbara Stanwick! The scene where she agonizes over how inside she's a young horny woman in love with Ralph but she's trapped in this withered

In other words, I'm running for Senate.

Agree-I think the book is underrated. Had a bit of Hawthorne to it, and an amazing last line.

You sacrifice that right to the high ground when you play backup for Ted Nugent on "Jailbait," Mike. Time to STFU now.

Sounds like time to polish off my Dogs Against Romney bumper sticker.

Throw things at it.
