Awe the Zune. Did they ever figure out how to make files bookmarkable even? Apple totally killed Microsoft. Not even close MS. Steve is in the floor. The Zune is dead and it makes the remains of the day. It's not the only thing MS should do away with. Why do they never quite get it right? I guess it all started with

But they're all just copying Apple. Anyhow, the iPhone aside from a bad camera is pretty hard to improve on. I'm sure if they could think of something new or great to throw on it they would. It just is good and that doesn't leave you anywhere to really go, especially since they can't do anything that will cause the

If the developer eats the updates will still keep coming. Not all developers choose to live like Richard Stallman as a sofa surfer. But realistically Apple should pinch a few out of their wad to buy this notification system which should be built into the os.

3 of these items are specifically tied to Windows. I guess you can get the list down by 3 by simply avoiding it if you can. So that leaves 7.

Yes. You need to buy Japanese green and learn how to brew it. Never put boiling water on green tea. It goes horribly bitter. 1 minute is all you need for the first infusion and then do the next infusion instantly. You can get 3 or 4 infusions per teaspoon. Never put sweetener or milk in green tea.

Thing is Green Tea is so amazing for you that you should try to have some every day. Have it with food for starters and have it early in the day. Buy good Japanese Bancha. It is the lowest in caffeine. If you find it still too much then you can throw away the first infusion after 30 seconds and then drink the next

They are not the same. Here's a simple experiment. Try to make a system backup and reinstall windows 7. Now try to restore from that backup. It won't restore your applications! Wtf. For real. Backup and restore don't even work. Try that on os x. It bloody works. No bullshit. Now of course you could use 3rd party to

Coffee makes the average person more manic, which is the opposite of depressed, although not necessarily much better a state to be in. However it's likely the coffee drinkers are just more social because that's the culture of it, and hence this would easily account for the result. I very much doubt coffee drinking

Facebook is small fry compared to Google. For some reason most people just think google is fine, but they have their hand in everything. We should all be concerned about that data and who controls it and for what purpose. Whoever controls web search controls everything these days. Facebook you can opt out of but

Unless you're making sour dough your bread will suck. Personally I find that really good bread is available for as cheap as I can make it. So I make my own kefir and sauerkraut both of which I can't buy since most kraut is pasteurized and expensive and forget commercial kefir because it's not even close to the real

Yes they are highly toxic, but then again so is most of the stuff most people dump on themselves and their belongings. And people wonder why western culture has an epidemic of cancers and many other serious diseases despite the glories of our "advanced" science. Good old cause and effect.

Huge news. One piece of malware found for the Mac by a company that sells anti-malware stuff, and it's a Trojan so you have to actually be stupid enough to launch the thing. Anti-virus companies need to drum up some more fear here if they want to sell their crap.

Ok. My mistake. Still too much.

Ok that's news to me. I've certainly ever paid for an iOS update and I thought the app store was using the same approach?

Definitely meditation is the solution. But the thing is even when you learn to meditate the mind will wander. You can learn how to give it something to do other than hashing crap over in the same old distorted way and then once the mind settles you can stay focused. A wandering mind is a symptom of dis-ease. When your

I found a video version of the DAVID UMMMO [vimeo.com] .

What a great post! I'm loving the comments. It's amazing that the term 'ambient' has been hijacked to some degree by some form of techno, which can be ok, but I like Eno's idea better. Much more relaxed. The one station I've found that is very Eno inspired is called StillStream. Check them out. They've been on line

You missed one. Don't leer. Just don't.

While it is fine to purchase some stuff through the app store I'd rather give my money directly to the developer than give 30% to Apple. Also many of the better apps like BBEdit have had to reduce features to comply with Apple's control fettish. I have an aversion to what Apple is doing with the whole app store thing.
