I completely agree. I can't stand eating out. My food is so much superior and at a vast fraction of the cost. Lately I've been getting heavily into fermenting my own food, like tempeh, sauerkraut, kefir, and other goodies. No eatery can come close to what I make with so little effort and cost. Once in a while I'll eat

Kin, not sure if you're responding to me, but the view you attribute to my view about resistance is not my concern here. The concern is that by wiping out microbes in your mouth you open yourself to infection, since the mouth is an ecosystem and these colonies of microbes, if they are healthy provide your first

Please take a look at some of my links above. Start with the Scientific American piece, and check out the skin deep web site where you can search out ingredients. It is difficult to find good sources in this area because the dominant paradigm is the misguided war on microbes. This is a massive misunderstanding of the

I've been using baking soda, basic environmental soap, and vinegar for all my cleaning for decades. I completely avoid chemical cleaners. If you had any idea what that stuff does to you, the environment and your wallet you would never use the stuff again either. The crazy thing is that environmental cleaners are

Well you should probably never take anti biotics unless it's a last resort. In most cases they are prescribed for things for which they have no effect. It takes 3 years to restore your body's microflora and some of them may be permanently wiped out. So I would be cautious if you care about your health. It's a good

It's true it doesn't mention oral hygiene. However, it does touch on some of the many diseases caused by wiping out micro organisms in general, especially in the digestive track. The mouth is the first part of the digestion isn't it. If your body is made up of 10 times more micro organisms than cells then think about

I guess your dentist is an independent source of information? No corporate wining and dining going on their to promote anyone's products! (sarcasm) Dentistry is a huge racket designed to make you and your money part ways in a huge hurry. I personally don't take my hygiene advice from the dentist. Have you ever

Read up on the war against bacteria and how anti-bacterial soaps and other products are thwarting our health. It's a misunderstanding of life. Your body consists of 10x more microbes than other cells. What you want is not to wipe out bacteria but have a healthy ecosystem of them. The bacteria on your hands and in your

Floss, brush, scrape the tongue, and use a water pic. Never use anti bacterial anything. Avoid sugar which feeds the plaque producing bacteria. If you feel you need a mouth wash the best thing is sea salt in water. You can gargle with it.

@captain_zilog: But then they'd have to live with Windows, which despite being a cheaper option in some cases, and being more "popular" (we'll conveniently ignore Bill's criminal manipulation of the market) doesn't have much appeal.

@fuzzybob: It's true, but the same is the case across os's. Nevertheless there are some pretty cool features, like resume, versioning, the copy feature and distraction free full screen. Nothing takes away from someone who wants to spend their life in terminal or writing scripts.

@Gimmeslack: Don't use it then. On a notebook computer, especially a 13 inch display it works wonders. Also if you're prone to distraction it's nice to get rid of the menu and just deal with a clean window.

I make my own sauerkraut. It's totally simple and is a super food loaded with probiotic bacteria. The stuff in the stores is pasteurized.

Not sure about the zoom apps suggested here. I think the idea of the new zoom feature is full screen without menus at the top at all. That's a whole different other thing. ShiftIt is a good option for just regular old zoom and moving windows to some specified quadrant.

Miso is a brilliant food even if you're not hung over. I like it before bed. Never buy the dry stuff because it is no longer probiotic. If you're in Canada try Tradition miso, aged 3 years, available in most health food stores. The barley is my favorite.

Will it fix your reg file? :)

You're living in a huge fantasy world if you think google is not tracking your android phone even if you opt out. That's what they do for a living. Apple does not track users in anything like the same fashion, and they recently issued a patch to allow you to opt out of that file that was tracking cell towers. I'd say

It's not a problem at all even for girls. Much of the world manages and prefers it to paper.

@mohamedzv2001: Indians do too, and I'm sure much of the world that doesn't have abundant trees to wipe their butts on. It's just way cleaner and smarter.

Great topic. I installed bedits on both toilets here. I can't recall the name, but could look it up if folks are interested. They were like $25 each delivered and can be hooked up easily even if you are renting. Brilliant. After that I seemed to be bumping into people trying to get down the street with massive bundles
