The best option would be a hydraulic desk, but until ikea makes one again they're probably out of reach price wise for most of us. Another alternative is to set up a small high table that you can use for standing and a regular desk for sitting. Ikea has high tables for cheap.

Sunscreen is full of toxic junk. There are a few brands that are ok, like California Baby. But at least most of us don't put sun screen on all the time. Most of the other cosmetics folks use all the time are basically toxic chemical soups too. I wouldn't put any of that stuff near my body.

Sweet.

Android is pushing Apple to innovate, which is a good thing. I predict iPhone 5 will suffer greatly.... from seriously short supplies. Thing about Android, besides generally poor battery life, is the fact that all that data is flowing back to Google. They're the biggest spy network the world has ever seen since

I very much doubt it comes close to Quicksilver. Quicksilver is open source and they just released a much more stable version. Anyhow it's good to see some strong competition. Maybe one day Quicksilver will be surpassed, but I think that day is not here yet.

Pretty good list of foods. I'd add home made sauerkraut to the list, which is full of good bacteria and b vitamins as well as vitamin c and k. Also a good miso, which is excellent for taking before bed.

@Saturdays: After tons of research these are the ones I bought. I grabbed mine for cheap on eBay because the Canadian price from the Sony site was crazy.

Good suggestions. Kabat-Zinn is a good place to start.

It might help to say to yourself internally thinking thinking when wandering thoughts come up. It helps to break the wandering. But the important thing I find is to relax the face and smile before returning to the breath. The key is to make this a joyful thing not a grim task where you are subtly punishing yourself

My best meditation tip is to start by sitting in an appropriate posture with eyes gently closed and being aware of your breath going in and going out. Set aside all concerns for the world. On the in breath gently smile and on the out breath relax. If the mind wanders try noting with the words thinking thinking, and

I have simple note set up to back up to dropbox in plain text.

Mac power users podcast web page offers 20% off 1password for anyone interested.

1password has been very reliable. Great support. Love the iPad app. Personally I'm synching via Dropbox. If this proves to be a problem I'll go back to running a wifi sync. I think I scooped it on one of those Mac Heist things when in version 2. I then bought it under a promotional price under version 3, which was

Nice post. The list I was using stopped updating and I was wondering where to find a decent replacement list.

Now playing

Rodney Yee is the glitzy face of fashion yoga, but I don't think he knows his stuff. Here's a far better video for forward head computer neck problems. Check it out.

Glad to hear that Fluid is being actively developed. I was worried it was dropped. It's a very handy app.

$5 is hardly worth complaining about. As Whiteson notes, previous versions were betas. You can always stick with the beta if you're happy with it.

Gawker is doing something wrong. They keep losing their best writers. LH is not what it was that's for sure. I'm still reading daily, but it's becoming increasingly rare that I find those stories that I must grab in Evernote. That's been my experience anyhow.

@Tyrone French: The pieces are pretty balanced. Apple news always garners more buzz because they are innovating and doing interesting things. As a tech blog how could you not report on the innovation? You would soon lose readers. It sounds like you are coming from the "I hate Apple" mind set. So I wonder who is being
