the dark knight is just a nickname, same as caped crusader, the detective, or even dynamic duo (with robin). all of which are important parts of his persona. My problem is forsaking all the other great aspects of the character developed over the years to focus on the grim and dark.

75 years of Batman and every movie has to be based on dark and grim Frank Miller's version. its as if a superhero movie HAS to be dark to succeed.

they waited too long. It was a decent movie that no one really thinks about anymore. If they make a sequel it'll end up with the same fate as the 2nd Sin City movie. That was another victim of not striking while the iron is hot.

just curious, but how did you watch the movie? movies can be a lot more scary if you are watching them on a big screen in a dark room at night vs on your phone with one earbud in on the train-ride to work.

I really like the character and enjoyed the films (some more than others...) but I would think a 4th iron man and the 2 remaining avengers films could be enough for the character. I would be open to letting the team evolve and grow.

It's crazy how hard to compare the 2 are cosidering they are both Marvel movies. I left TWS blown away thinking "Now that was a GOOD movie" not good superhero but good like shawshank redemption. It just had that power behind it.
