Also yes, but judging from how many folks are defending this kind of bad combat design (and outright attacking/insulting me for it), perhaps it’s time I grind out my last two trophies for the Platinum and hang it up as a prime example of “fantastic start only to be mired by terrible design choices in netcode, combat,

Do you prefer ten clips of headshots only to die from a single errant grenade from the boss at full health? Wow, sounds like you should play some better designed RPGs rather than attack folks for preferring halfway decent game design.

How people continue to assume I’m some brain-dead dolt who has never played an RPG before and therefore don’t know why this is a thing is mind blowing to me. I think the bigger problem is that the biggest defenders of the status quo in The Division simply haven’t played better action RPGs that get the feel and flow of

I “perpose” that both you and Ubisoft take a harder look at games like World of Warcraft or Diablo III which do not or did not have this problem. Surprisingly enough, there are ways to ramp up difficulty beyond bigger life bars or lower player damage. Part of the reason Diablo is so beloved by its players is because

Easy fix: sticky grenades do additional damage to weak points or stun opponents, creating a brief damage multiplier.

Because it’s boring. I don’t have damage sponges in Diablo III or Torchlight unless I’m punching above my difficulty, and at that point it’s obvious I need to dial it back and regear or level up. Damage sponges pull you out of the game, they slow down the pace of it.

Difficulty should not equal larger lifebars. That's old, quarter-munching arcade gameplay.

Diablo III no longer has this problem because they took the time to properly balance difficulty while still having the player feel powerful without making enemies pushovers.

I’d argue the bullet sponge effect, along with cheating, are two of the bigger issues. The “feel” of even a powerful, upgraded, perfect roll gun is that of a peashooter. Compared to similarly styled action RPGs, it feels slow and chunky, like the player has no real impact or force behind their firearms.

Dismissed.

All this sounds great and all, but if the boss still takes three to ten clips worth of headshots in order to down them, then I'm still not coming back. Combat feels slow, chunky, and boring. The bullet sponge effect needs to end for NPCs.

Small, compact, decent looks. Yeah, I can dig it to a degree, especially the matte finish on all its immediately touchable sides. Shame it's (still) not rack mountable or appears to have no IR receiver, but that's SCE designers for you.

I love how enraged you are about correcting everyone in a thread that his since been eclipsed by a newer one with the relevant information you now share.

Yes, we do. The Brazilian government has always had a heavy hand when dealing with these sorts of things, including the detaining of individuals either unrelated to the incident in question, or wholly innocent of wrongdoing. This is nothing new for them, but Rio now shines a spotlight on it.

Except the problem is that at the higher levels of play, exploiting these generous hit boxes makes it feel a bit unfair, especially when you see the kill cam and know that shouldn't have worked. Thankfully, it's only affecting a few heroes or abilities, not a game wide thing.

He should be able to DEFLECT ults, but not REFLECT ults. The problem currently is that he also seems to reflect splash damage from rockets as Bastion, so even if the rocket is aimed just outside his hitbox, he avoids all damage and sends it back to me.

Can we also nerf Roadhog’s hook being able to attach to hitboxes hidden by solid geometry? Or narrow the hook hitbox to prevent this? I’m tired of a Roadhog jumping and hooking me through a fucking wall just because his invisible hook hitbox hit the top of my invisible head hitbox.

I’m not seeing it as a botched launch, necessarily. Sure, major games like this tend to be subject to really strict media regimens by the publisher, but I rather like how Sony and company have been relatively hands off about it, especially with the zero day patch adding and changing a ton of content.

I have had the luxury of cold cut sandwiches made the day before the meeting and left in a paper sack. Delicious combinations like Roast Beef, Mayo and Cheddar, or Provolone, Turkey and Mustard, all icy cold with frozen/stale bread.
