As I've been posting, Polygon does great news. Crecente is actually the news editor over there. Community isn't great yet, but I think it will grow.

Stay away from GI. I came to Kotaku from there. They've lost most of their great writers minus Reiner and Andy, and the community is fairly awful.
Oh I completely agree. Community is what has kept me coming back to Kotaku for the past two years. I still haven't found a major gaming site that puts as much emphasis on its community as Kotaku does. It's a shame that Denton is actively trying to destroy what makes the Gawker network great.
Thanks. Downloaded and now I'm trying to figure out how to work IRC.
Lumines for sure- it's my most played Vita title. The Show is great as well (only $30 at GameStop). If you can find Resistance for $30, I'd jump on that. Didn't feel like it was worth $40, but the campaign is decent enough for a purchase if you can get it for less than full price.
The Victoria's Secret reference was actually straight from The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. TSN was an adaption of said book. However, Sorkin still deserves acclaim, because the book was fairly messy in its plot and needed to be pulled together, which Sorkin did. The little touches he added, like having…
Can you recommend a good Mac IRC client? i'd love to join in, but all the good clients seem to be Windows only.
I'm considering switching to Polygon. They have fantastic articles, but the community is still a bit small.
I'll be attending a large Christian university in the fall (guess- there's only two or three that qualify as large). I'm actually not that worried about college. I have a fairly screwed up family situation that I'm anxious to leave (that's not what's depressing me) so I'm looking forward to moving on and getting to…
Need a bit more support from the community. I'm one of the least regarded star commenters. Plus, there already is one in existence, but it isn't active. I'd like to start fresh, but again I need the community to back me before I take the time and effort to do so.
I didn't get the Retina FYI. Just a plain old Pro as a belated graduation gift, as well as to prepare for college. Surface looks cool, but I can't shake the feeling that Microsoft is going to eff it up in one way or another. The Engadget staff had some interesting opinions on that front. Plus I already have an iPad 2,…
Kirk speaks lies. The Social Network was phenomenal. Eisenberg, Timberlake, and Garfield all gave great performances, Sorkin's script was spot on, and Reznor did a splendid job with the soundtrack. Should've won best picture instead of The King's Speech without a doubt. Speaking of movies, there are so many I want to…
Same feeling over here man. I mean, it's summer, I have very few obligations, friends who I hang out with one or two times a week, and I'm leaving for college in a couple months. I should be feeling amazing right now, but instead I'm depressed as hell. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Since you're editing video and you can afford the retina, go for it. I got a new MacBook minus retina as I'm not a serious video editor, but from what I understand from reading various reviews, the retina upgrade is well worth it. Engadget and The Verge both have great takes- check them out.
Got a new MacBook Pro. Specs aren't great (only 4 GB of RAM and the Intel Graphics card sucks) but it was a gift for college, so I can't really complain. Plus it runs most games (with a few exceptions, like Deus Ex: HR and a couple of others) from the past few years really well. Haven't had any problems with…
I will pay $10, like a mindless robot, to see Liam Neeson beat up anything. Even a punching bag. Yeah, I can't wait for this.
I'm in a melancholy mood Kotaku. I picked up The Perks of Being a Wallflower today on a whim, and I finished it in one sitting. If you aren't familiar with the plot, the book is a series of letters written by a high school freshman named Charlie to an anonymous recipient. It's a coming of age story (all the necesssary…
Love Scott Pilgrim and love Brie Larson (especially after 21 Jump Street). The cast of SP was just so perfectly selected, and the soundtrack was outstanding. The whole Scott Pilgrim IP (movie + comics) turned me onto bands I had never heard before and wouldn't have given a shot otherwise. I know the series is over,…
Just got Payday on PSN and played it a bit. Not too bad for a coop shooter. Wish it had local though. IMO it's worth $10, not the $20 it was originally priced at. Besides Payday, this weekend has been all Gravity Rush and the Show on Vita. I'm currently running the Rays (awesome young talent like Hellickson) and I…
I'm assuming you're on PSN? I just bought it and would love to play with you. PSNs bmc811 and I have a mic.
