Hi! I grew up in Ottawa and live in the Illinois Valley, near Starved Rock State Park. Pretty rural area.
Central Illinois. It’s a weird state—the top third or so is very “northern,” but once you get a bit further south, it’s more like the South, if you see what I mean. The accents & culture change drastically. I live right at that weird intersection, in liminal Illinois.
