BvS made me want to leave the cinema after 40 minutes in because I was so bored. That’s my personal gauge for film quality. None of the Marvel movies did that. Also, DC’s Dark Knight trilogy didn’t do that. So take from this what you will.

It didn’t win Worst Picture of the Year. That was Hillary’s America, Dinesh D’Souza’s amazingly bad propaganda film about how the Democratic Party was entirely responsible for slavery. No really.
This really isn’t a subtle or difficult point and I’m not sure why it isn’t easier to make to someone like that’s face, succinctly, so that they have to answer it on live tv:
Bill Maher refuses to let anyone from BLM on his show but invites MY because he supports ‘free speech’. Bill Maher has been racist and sexist forever but no one blinks an eye or really cares cause he’s a ‘liberal’ white man.
Breaking News: Racist Invites Racist Onto His Television Show.
My nephews saw BvS and came away thinking it was weird and boring. Like, how do you lose an 11 and a 13 year old when you have a movie with Batman and Superman in it?
745 million is disappointing in sales? Keep in kind the only reason the Sirens movie is happening is because of SS’s financial success
And one would think that the first big-screen meeting of the two most famous superheros in the entirety history of human story telling would have made a fuckton of cash, but it didnt even get across the billion dollar mark.
You think Justice League will barely break even? That’s kind of ridiculous. No DCEU movie has made less than $668M total. Justice League’s budget is less than $300M ($500M for the combined Parts 1 and 2 was last I read, but that was before they decided they’d be split up)
Justice League is going to be an absolute disaster and still make a billion dollars.

More likely it will make some money, but just barely break even - and nowhere near the billion dollar mark. Meanwhile Guardians of the Galaxy 3 comes out, easily makes north a billion, is praised by critics and utterly humiliates Justice League.

Counterpoint: MoS specifically said Superman’s power came from the Sun, then depowered him on the ship with Kryptonian air.
Call me old fashioned but Batman with a gun still seems wrong.
Have to agree. I hear Goyer mentioned just as much as Snyder when people diss that film (and rightfully so). Maybe Snyder a bit more, but only because he has more train wrecks under his belt.
There is no dawn in the Synderverse, only shades of GRIMDARK.
Well, apparently it makes sense if all one manages to get out of the news regarding the Middle East is ‘Muslims are bad people who like to kill other people.’ I guess critical thinking is not everyone’s friend. But yeah, I was kind of shocked that he managed that particular leap in (il)logic - even putting aside…
Yeah, I had an interesting moment with an acquaintance last year about that. We were talking about DS9 and he said that the Bajorans were the Israelis (since in his head Cardassian = bad guy = Palestinian). I responded: ‘so, you’re saying that the people who live in occupied territories and refugee camps, aren’t…
