This, just like a bajizillion other things, depends on the user. I personally find a 3 monitor setup (one giant 40" 4K, with 2 other monitors on the side) incredibly helpful. It is 100% certain that I am more productive with that kind of setup than with a single monitor.

I’m still surprised every time I find out that any organization that is doing something potentially questionable by the US gov, or Corporate america keep using services based in the US.

Pretty much all of Europe and most of the middle east as well. Having a picture is more or less a must. Neither approach is right, you just have to roll with the culture of the place you work at (like most other things).

One of my gigs is at a top tier university where we accept students into programs who are pulling from existing college students (i.e. it’s an inside program for which you must be a college student to apply and get in). The only solace I have surrounded by people like that is that I know that they will die, and there will be absolutely nothing for them waiting at the other end of the light/smoke/swirly/whatever.
