So everything here happened the way it was supposed to happen, as designed. (It’s fun to shit on Boeing, but I know someone here will try to spin this into a “bOeInG cAn’T eVeN dEsiGn BrAkEs cOrReCtLy” kind of thing.)

aircraft tire SME here, and came to post this. In my field we refer to the release plugs you mention as “fuse plugs”. Blowing the fuse plugs is usally a delayed effect thing, as you need time for the heat to go from the brakes to the wheel where the use plugs are. Most aircraft I work with have fuse plugs that melt in…
Agree. The photo shows deflated, not “burst” tires in the catastrophic sense.
The photo at the top of the article supports your view. There is no obvious skid marks around the tires.
It seems dirty that they even mention Boeing in the headline.
Once upon a time, RIM was the leader in the market. They didn’t just rest on their laurels, they refused to believe the things Apple did were what people wanted.
Lol what is this revisionist history. I don’t own Apple products and that will probably continue but this completely ignores how much better the iPhone was at the time. BB had their own thing going on and they were doing well, but I had tried multiple touch screen phones before the iPhone and they were mid at best. It…
Classic case of no one knowing what the words “sports car” and “entry level” mean. The Miata and GR86 are the only new cars that fit the bill. BMW 4 series? Go home internet, you’re drunk.
NASA already released the explanation: it was feedback on the inter-spacecraft communications channel connecting all the spacecraft up there. Noises like that do crop up from time to time on various spacecraft connected into the audio loop, because there are a lot of different spacecraft and other equipment up there.…
Acura TL?
Toyoburu also gets one in the + column if it’s your only car. While not exactly spacious, it has a lot more room for hauling stuff than a Miata (unless you have to haul, like, a really really tall lamp that fits in a passenger seat).
Ah cool, almost an entire slideshow about gatekeeping. Neat.
This is such a massive unforced error by GM. No way am I buying a vehicle that does not have CarPlay. My apps and info move between all my cars currently and I do not even have to think about it.

I had a friend who got a straight-cut race box for his street car. I warned him about the noise and he basically dismissed me as being a wuss. After maybe a week with it, he had a built helical box on order.
Yeah...I wasn’t sold on the Supra at first, but it’s hard to argue with when it’s absolutely slaying pretty much any form of amateur motorsport, and especially now that there’s a manual option. I still don’t like all the fake vents, but there’s no arguing that it’s a great car.
After I saw Papadakis Racing make 1000 hp with a stock bottom end, I was sold. I haven’t even heard of many problems they have. It’s like the Toyota badge is keeping the BMW-ness at bay.
Wow, that is an absolute dumpster fire of a headline.
I love lightweight manual ICE-powered cars as much as the next enthusiast. But after watching a bunch of youtube videos about this car from channels, it doesn’t look boring at all - it actually looks genuinely fun. I’d definitely like a go behind the wheel.
Personally, I think the whole simulated ICE drivetrain thing that the Ioniq 5 N is doing is fucking awesome. It’s the first EV I’ve actually WANTED. If I could afford it, I’d buy one right this second.
