Think “Caterpillar Drive”

I thought subarus just burned oil and that's how the world works.

Put it this way — during an allied exercise, an AIP boat operated by the Swedes was able to sneak right up into the middle of a carrier strike group and get a firing solution on a carrier without ever being detected. Afterwards they popped right up and shocked the hell out of the US commanders. It was a major wake-up

please don’t win the powerball jackpot.

Actual data (even relative comparisons) varies by application and is highly classified. Bottom line, though, modern AIP is very, very quiet, generally better than almost any nuke boat.

AIP isn’t about stealth per se. The point is that submarines are most easily tracked when they come up for air, and every non-nuclear submarine has to come up for air eventually. AIP allows diesel submarines to stay under water for much longer.

That looks so fucking british holy fuck. It even has a chin up british stance.

Still waiting for the RamCat

I’m waiting for the Pacifica Soccercat myself.

Still waiting for a Grand Caravan Town and Country Pacifica Hellcat.

“So, your fleet average is 13 mpg.”

Who are these “people”? I want them found and beaten.

He’s talking about the Veyron SS (presumably).

The turbo noises. Oh, the glorious turbo noises.

Here’s another picture of data logging.

Those handles might be cool if there were running boards on this thing. Then people could ride outside, firing their tommy guns wildly into the air.
