“that argument is proven wrong when you really can’t safely overtake other vehicles on a 2 lane road”

You can’t possibly be serious. I didn’t know you needed a car that does 0-60 in under 4 seconds to be able to “safely” pass people. You are a perfect example of what I was getting at with my original post, lol.

But the BRZ IS SO SLOW THO, right? Surely it can’t outrun a normally accelerating car!

I have a question! It’s actually a question someone asked me yesterday (and an example of how grossly over-exaggerated the Twins’ lack of power has become in the car community):

Of COURSE you’ll have enough power. If the minivan next to you pins the throttle to the firewall, then you might have an issue... but if he’s going that fast, then who cares? Let him by. People say it’s underpowered, but it isn’t underpowered to the point where you can’t easily outrun a “normally accelerating car”

If the time/space is so short that you need a Hellcat to make the pass, then you probably shouldn’t be passing them there anyway. The BRZ has plenty of scoot if you drop it down one or two gears and get the revs up. I’ve never had an issue passing someone I wanted to pass.

If the BRZ isn’t fast enough for daily commuting and passing cars and buses, you really need to re-evaluate your driving style. WTF, lol.

Best case scenario for how this will play out:

1. They launch a car with Subaru’s new 2.4L engine, which will provide a significant bump in power output - exactly like everyone wanted.

2. Everyone will still complain that it doesn’t make as much power as “most other sports cars,” and will continue to compare it to

Im just going to assume it’s the drugs they have you on at the hospital that are responsible for the things you are saying, because nobody is this stupid/arrogant/clueless/etc...

Transit buses have foot mounted turn signals and high beams. I thought they were pretty convenient to use...

I have a Series.Blue as well :)

I did not. That article applied to 4WD vehicles that are able to mechanically couple the front and rear axles in a 4WD LO configuration, as I recall.

I’m not arguing with anything you said. I will just point out though that a lot of people are forgetting what this article was about. It wasn’t an argument that RWD was BETTER than anything else. It was just that it is fun. I added in the comments that it was also plenty capable in the snow with proper tires, but

That was terrifying enough to read. I don’t need to ever experience that in person.

If you’re referring to the videos posted on this site a few weeks ago, note that that was in reference to a 4WD-LO system that can lock the front and rear axles together, which is a very specific application that doesn’t apply to the vast majority of vehicles on the road.

I will agree I am not the common idiot. But I will also point out that I drive with all of the traction aids off. Had I left them on, that slide wouldn’t have occurred, nor any of the other fun wiggles I had. The BRZ’s driver aids are mind-blowingly precise. I’ve been on a frozen lake, pinned the throttle, and sawed

I was more referring to the “real winter driving involves snow, ice, drifts, guard rails, trees” parts of your statement. Hills suck, lol. It’s obviously dependent on where you live. I just get annoyed when people claim RWD should not be driven in the snow no matter how flat, or how little snow there is.

So you had a rental Charger. That’s all we needed to know to make the entire rest of your argument completely moot. I can almost guarantee you that the charger either had all-season, or summer tires on it.

Also, as I’ve mentioned to plenty of other folks here, if you leave the traction aids on, the BRZ simply won’t

I should state that I came to my RWD BRZ from an AWD Subaru Outback on Blizzaks. I’m well aware of the benefits that an AWD drivetrain has to offer. Not everyone has access to multiple vehicles. If you only have one vehicle, and that vehicle is RWD, then you make due with RWD. Is it AS GOOD in every situation as an

I’ll take my chances that someone on the internet has enough of a vandetta against me to go through the trouble of trying to get a cop to care enough about this to retroactively write me a ticket, lol.

The argument was simply that RWD cars can be fun in the snow, and aren’t completely pointless. In some ways they can be more fun (more of a tendency to stick their butts out) and in other ways AWD is more fun (high speed drifting and snownuts).

I don’t think she was making an argument that the BRZ will win races in the
