See Vettel’s opening lap pass against Hamilton...

Vettel used the runoff to gain a position over Hamilton on the opening lap. Why wasn’t that one called?

“...they’ll always call it when it happens during a pass or during a qualifying lap.”

I wouldn’t say they “don’t do rigorous enough testing.” I know people love to hate on OEMs, but in reality they do a metric SHIT TON of testing. The reality is that things will happen no matter HOW much testing you do.

That’s why occasionally NASA loses a multi-billion dollar space probe 10 years into a mission even

When it came time for me to take my driver’s test, my dad and I went over all the documents I would be needing several times, and laid everything out for the next day. Most importantly, the 6 points worth of identification.

Of course, the next day, when I arrived at the testing location, I didn’t have my Passport

He needs to carry stuff, and he needs to look slow, but be fast, and have a manual? I know just the thing...

Not a bad idea. We were “camping” in the parking lot of a kinda-shady area, though, so we didn’t want to leave the car unlocked in any way (this was a last-minute, poorly-planned trip, lol.)

It was raining pretty hard. Not really a good option. And those window vents would have worked but those also allow all sorts of bugs in.

That’s an option that also allows all sorts of bugs and mosquitos in... and also we were in a shady area of town and didnt really want to leave anything open.

I’ve slept in a wagon before. In fact, myself and two of my friends all slept together in the back of my old ‘98 Outback. To say it was cramped would be an understatement, but it was rainy outside, and our inability to open the windows to get ventilation was what made it truly horrible. I’m talking windows dripping

It folds.

You don’t need anything else :)

I once had a string of days where I was super late for work in the morning, and then wound up finishing work so late that I was too tired/lazy to get gas. After, like, 4 days of this (mostly due to a shit-ton of overtime), my gas needle was way past the empty line. I knew I really needed to find a gas station, but I

Ehhhh. There’s a big difference between a failure mode that simply results in loss of power, and a failure mode that causes bits of engine to separate in all directions. It’s hard to tell how much damage was done to other parts of the aircraft in this case (clearly not much) but all it takes is a tiny piece of

Here’s my mom’s first autocross. She refuses to do any more ride-alongs, lol.

Haha, nope. Home-made simulator rig. Thoguh since that photo was taken I’ve learned how god-awful MDF is, and I’ve upgraded to proper plywood, lol. I probably only have a few months left to live after inhaling that MDF dust. It doesn’t so much get cut, as it gets vaporized.

WRB is the best color!

If you’re only ever going to pull loads of 1000 pounds, you don’t need a truck at all. I regularly tow 700 lb with my BRZ, lol...

Correct, but an F-150 can tow 0ver 10,000 lb these days. The number of people who actually tow trailers weighing even half that are relatively small. As I said, for people for whom it’s useful, these trucks make a lot of sense. You don’t need an F-450 to tow your family’s small fishing boat, though.

I think trucks are incredibly useful when utilized for their purpose. I think they are a waste for the people who buy them as grocery-getters. That’s all.
