As someone who lives in Chicago, I am qualified to tell you that $8,000/month is about $3.27 above the poverty line when you factor in the cost of living.

Most vehicles (if not all of them) have side marker lights in addition to headlamps. If you have a headlight out, and are also driving drunk, and over the line, AND the oncoming vehicle doesn’t notice in time to avoid you, then that’s a lot of things adding up to a bad outcome.

If you can't see with only one headlight on, then you've got bigger problems than one burnt out light... like the other one is also burnt out. One headlight is adequate enough to see where you're going.
