It’s a well-priced apartment in a VERY convenient location, and moving is a huge PITA. I’m not home much, and when I am I just do my own thing and avoid him. We don’t get into arguments or anything. He’s just messy, and lazy and careless and it annoys the shit out of me.
I can’t stand my roommate, and I’m working on my 2nd year living with him.
But why did it hit the parked car?
That wheel/tire combo is a bit heavier, but not TOO much. The HREs are only 20 lb each, which is about what the stock Toyobaru wheels weigh. I think the wheel/tire combo was only about 2 lb heavier per corner than the stock setup. My car had the STi wheels, which were 2 lb lighter, so for my it was a slightly bigger…
So your counterpoint to all of the things wrong with this car is that it’s good off road...
...which is literally the one thing that pretty much NONE of these vehicles will ever do.
Useful.
The removal of the ABS fuse wasn’t a permanent solution. It was a temporary fix until she scheduled an appointment with the repair shop. No ABS is better than overactive ABS.
I’m not sure what annoys me more: the modifications, or the fact that he thinks the modifications look good.
Nice! I figured you were on RE71s, since that’s kind of the only tire worth having for autocross, but mine don’t make that much noise, lol.
Sounds like you’re doing well! This is my first year in STX, and second year autocrossing, but I’m currently on track to take 1st in STX with the Chicago Region SCCA. BRZs…
I think the issue is that the sensor seemed to decide to fail while the car was sitting. So it was suddenly the next time he started the car that it just belched out black smoke and barely ran. It never ran for more than a few seconds the handful of times he tried starting it before giving up and calling the tow…
Was this one designed so that it wouldn’t hit a parked car?
Nicely done! What tires are you running? They like to squeal a lot! Maybe that’s just the surface you’re running on.
You mean the ones that are safe?
No offense, but I don’t think you really know what you’re talking about.
Of course if a sensor is bad, and the vehicle detects such a fault, the system will be disabled. However, the vehicle has to KNOW it has a bad sensor before it can do anything about it...
I’m trying to tell you that the arguments you and others are making are “Captain Obvious” type statements. It’s fairly obvious here…
This obviously wasn’t the way the system was supposed to operate. I don’t know why there are so many comments here from people saying, “What a dumb design. It should stop before hitting things.”
No shit. Something went wrong. This isn’t how it is INTENDED to function.
When a plane crashes, you say, “That sucks, I wonder…
No. It’s intentionally designed to hit things while parking.
/sarcasm
Obviously something went wrong here.
You clearly haven’t met my brother.
