I don't move large file around the home network much, so N-speed wouldn't make much of a difference on the surfing experence. My DSL connection speed is well below 802.11g speeds, so there's no advantage in upgrading.

Doesn't work so well if you have a ergo keyboard with the keys split along 'tgb' and 'yhn'.

This is why I love LCD screens that 'tilt & swivel' (for lack of a better description) - you can hold the camera down at your waist with the LCD facing upwards. It's especially useful for photographing babies on the floor, as you can hold the camera at floor level and still compose the frame.

@StandardResponse: Spy Party v61: you're a waiter, at the party, with a vodka martini (shaken not stirred). You have to identify the spy and serve him the martini. There's a sniper outside dying of thirst. If he identifies the spy before you, he's going to kill him so that he can have the martini. It just became

Spy Party v2: you're an assassin, at the party, trying to identify the spy so you can kill him in person. There's a sniper outside trying to identify the assassin to protect the spy. It just became a 3 player game.

@JrsyDevil's Advocate®: I thought there were laws requiring all firearm toy replicas to be brightly coloured to help prevent police from shooting children carrying toy guns (or is that only in Canada?)? The Wii controller isn't meant to be played with outside, but it being wireless makes it possible.

I wonder if having a wired controller would have helped the child distinguish toy from real thing.

@Nano-Byte: I hear ya... I still 'vi' files when I'm able to.

Do all mega-powerusers use trackballs?

@maximum_sarge: Pedestrians, followed by backseat drivers.

My other car has a bumper sticker that says "My other car is also a piece of crap".

@mrkchmbrs: I was able to get Palm Desktop and Active Sync to run on my Windows 7 laptop by using the Vista compatibility mode.

@david.is.me: I have an old laptop on which I installed Ubuntu and then enabled printer sharing over the home network. I can print to it from another Vista laptop without any problems.

This is were networking helps... if they approach you for a potential job, you already know they want you, so better change to negotiate. I once negotiated a higher offer due to the fact that I was accepting 1 week fewer vacation with this position. 4 months later, they decided to recognize industry experience and

That front end makes me think of hammer-head sharks...

@dpollitt: The key part is "in compact digital cameras". Compare any compact and DSLR with the same MP rating, and the DSLR wins because it sports a larger sensor. But, if they put that larger sensor in the compact, then some of the pro-sumers would be happy with the compact, instead of laying out the extra bucks

@Orng: Probably not that simple... the ceiling of our room is the concrete for the front steps & outside landing. Also, integrating the room into the foundation won't be straightforward. You don't want the doorway shifting seperately from the house.

@snupher: A lot of homes built in the last few years up here in Canada have a 'cold storage room' in the basement with air vents to bring in the cold. No raccoons getting in through those, and you don't have to go outside to get stuff. Being in the ground, that helps stabilize the temperature swings outside.

@glyman001: I wonder if any of these phones' browsers support flash.. n900 does.
