I would just point out that she did not actually accuse him of rape. She threatened to. I’d imagine the threat to falsely accuse somebody of rape is much more common than actually falsely accusing somebody.

If the justice system starts prosecuting rape allegations with the seriousness that they deserve THEN we can worry about miscarriages of justice where men are falsely accused.

The tricky part though is even if it was a false accusation, would the guy have been arrested or held or whatever for any amount of time before she comes clean or “doesn’t press charges”? That’s lost work and time out of his life and a reputation to some degree, even if it’s not warranted.
