Currently reading this during the 8-10 PM slot. Let me tell you this: Putting your kid on a strict sleep schedule pays off goddamn huge. HUGE. Our daughter is 3 and that kid's eyelids snap shut on cue at noon for naptime and 7:30 PM for bedtime.

I can't even enjoy the 6 to 8 a.m. block, because if I don't hear my 6 & 7 year old boys caber tossing 4x4s in the living room by then, I'm in bed half-awake thinking "great, they slept in! Man, they *did* have an extra cup of sparkling water with dinner last night...whiiiich means that someone DEFINITELY PISSED THE…
There's no reason to be awake during this stretch of time unless you're making a grim principled grab at wringing out some extra minutes of lousy F-grade solitude for yourself.
I'm not sure how you'd expect that to work. They're on a two-lane road, she's clearly swerving, the last thing I'd want to do is get right up behind her or beside her where I could get run off the road or wind up in her lap if she swerved or hit the braked suddenly.
Oh shit, that was brutal. Thanks.
I'm not saying she shouldn't have called the cops, just that the time frame seemed quick. I think most people would see their spouse and car missing and put 2 and 2 together, and maybe wait a while before contacting the authorities. Maybe she knew he was depressed/suicidal and quickly called the police, just a…
What world do you live in? Your husband says he's going to bed, shortly thereafter he's literally no where to be found and you're like, "oh what the fuck, maybe he'll turn up sometime"? Really?
It's so sad that the last thing he kicked was the bucket.
It's a Southern thing. And the 'h' in "vehicle" is not silent.
he tried to sideswipe the vehicle and missed us by a foot
Interesting, this article differs in some pretty significant ways from the passages from the story that Bob Ley read on Outside The Lines prior to the story being officially published. Among other things, the report Ley read on air appeared to confirm the AP report of the NFL having received a copy. There's also…
Mine is 20 months now but still cried and chastised myself for not skipping it. But yeah, would have been 10 times harder for me that soon after giving birth.
This may seem silly, but puppy/kitten videos IMMEDIATELY. This is what I did when my daughter was that age and I saw a news story that hit too close to home. Give yourself a break and love up that baby. (Congratulations!)
nursing my 7 week old, I should've skipped it too. He's got little dark spots all over his onesie.
I feel like this is one of those jobs I could have done a few years ago, but now that I have a child of my own I just could not handle. You are completely right; every time there is a news story about something happening to a child I immediately project my son onto the victim and it's heart-wrenching.
I had to stop reading, I'm bawling my eyes out, I've known too many parents who've lost their babies or had to terminate pregnancies because of birth defects. I absolutely recognize the necessity but I can't even conceive of ever doing this work.
Im glad there is a gigantic red circle on the thumbnail, I would have had no idea what was going on otherwise.
If Shepherd paid this surrogate to conceive and made promises to her ex partner that they would raise the child together, then she is responsible for the child legally as a parent.
