That is my biggest complaint about Elite. As a space sim though it is fantastic. I just wish there was more to it.

So much nostalgia. It was MoP that finally killed my love of WoW but it was a gradual decline starting with Cata. The accelerated leveling made it hard to enjoy all the new quest content for the low levels and the starting areas for the new races were irritating as hell after the first time.

Do the developers have plans to support this game long term or will they just release a few shallow updates and be done with it?

Great article, Evan! Perfectly sums up why I am so interested in this game. I’ve yet to buy it on account of the continued PC issues but it is definitely on my radar.

I played Skyrim much the same way you did mostly because I like to avoid confrontations and explore the many caverns, dungeons and ruins. Even after owning the game for over a year it still found ways to amaze me, like when you’d be plumbing the depths of a Dwemer ruin and it would open up into a massive underground…

The moral of the story is that you can be a worthless sack of self-centred garbage but if you are hawt then everything will work out just fine. Also don’t piss off fairy lizards. I think?

I really want this game but in its current state I am pretty reluctant to lay out $90NZD on what appears to be a very poorly optimised PC game. I’ve been feeding my exploration habit with Starbound and TNG re-runs but it just isn’t the same. :-(

I personally dislike his work. I thought it was pretty awful in one of his Spider-Man runs and I’ve never been able to appreciate it since.

Seriously. I can’t even read a Marvel comic these days without rolling my eyes. So many of them are just utter garbage now. At least I still have Dark Horse although it looks like B.P.R.D. might be in its end game now. :-(

Yeah, I really enjoyed him in that role. No doubt he ended up on the pile of Winchester casualties but I don’t remember for sure.

Awesome interview. I’ve seen so much of Ben Edlund’s stuff over the years and he rarely disappoints.

Holy crap! I loved that show! This would be a lot of fun to re-visit and you get some learning out of it too (although I don’t actually remember any of what I learned from it now so... yeah).
