Completely agree. It looks and sounds so trashy it makes me sad. I’m going to give it a try but I don’t think my heart will be in it. This review really annoyed me, not by saying it is a decent show, but that it might be the best in the genre.

If I can make my brain force a disconnect between the source material and what this show is has been developed into I might give it a shot. My initial reaction, based on trailers and whatnot, is that this is pure garbage and that someone took a bribe from Fox to promote it, or maybe your click-bait title editor went a…
They can both suck equally hard. Moffat was good at writing dialogue, and had some fun ideas, but I hate the direction he took the show in. Good riddance to him. Now, will Chibnall be an improvement? I have no idea but I’m going to keen to find out. Maybe he will bring back Captain Jack and do away with River…
Sweet. I might check it out when I have some time. Thanks!
Is that the previous Captain Marvel run? Your Firefly description has me intrigued.

In other words, the prequels should be remade and rewritten supported with material from The Clone Wars (and add Asoka, dammit). The prequels were, in my opinion, complete garbage - the wooden acting, the dialogue (oh god, the dialogue), the characters, the heavy reliance on CG effects and so on. This may be the ONLY…
Obi-Wan movie? Shit yeah! Now that my love for Star Wars has been reignited (or reawakened, you might say?) I’d be totally on board for this and Ewan Mcgregor was brilliant in the prequels as Obi-Wan, shitty dialogue and direction aside.
Ease up there. I’m not referring to his fight with Finn but the way his character was portrayed throughout the movie. He starts off being supremely menacing and powerful and then makes a gradual transition to whiny brat unable to control his temper; throwing ridiculous tantrums on board his Star Destroyer when things…
Much obliged.
There are so many ridiculous coincidences in this movie it is best not to think about them.
He went from staggeringly intimidating bad ass in the opening scenes to whiny incapable dickbag amazingly fast in that movie. Hard to imagine him cutting down any kind of apprentice, be they jedi, carpenter or plumber.
Robinson’s article also includes an interesting confession from Moffat, who says he thought “The Husbands of River Song” might be his last time writing for Doctor Who, and he just wanted to write River Song one last time. And there’s tons more in there. The whole thing is very much worth reading.
I’ll do that! Thanks. :-)

Tomorrowland should have been on the other list. It’s directed by Brad Bird, starring George Clooney and co-written by Damon Lindelof.
Until you mentioned the plane sequence I couldn’t even remember if I’d see the movie. I had. A MONTH AGO. Such a forgettable movie.
Sure it is but my point was that some guy questioned whether or not some cosplayers were just doing it for the attention (or something - I forget the specifics) and a lot of io9ers jumped right down his throat in response. For me it was a really disappointing as it was the kind of vitriol I had not really seen on io9…
Try questioning the validity of cosplayers on io9. Then you’ll see how quickly io9 commenters can turn unpleasant. Yowza!
I know, right. I was just thinking “Oh, Luther. Man, that was a great show. I really enjo...y...ed... cannibals? Rose Leslie? WTF?! IS THIS A NEW EPISODE?!”
