It was definitely a lot less ‘in your face’ than most of his other work and it was a pretty interesting spin on the Avengers but so much of it had me rolling my eyes and thinking, often aloud, “WTF am I reading??” Especially those weird and lame celebrity references.

I think you might be giving Millar a bit too much credit by calling it ‘satire’.

I was getting worried it was just me thinking this...

Flash Thompson is no longer a flaming redhead?! What kind of bizarro universe is this taking place in!?!

That would be so amazing. I doubt they would do that but it would be such refreshing and unique approach; set it up as a series about a young Batman in his formative years and then pull the rug out from under people’s feet and reveal it is actually Owlman in his formative years. I guess the execs at whatever channel

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I read this article. Spider-Man without the powers or the humour or the spirit.

That sucks but I’d noticed that a lot of the type of articles that would have been posted by io9 in the past were coming from Giz instead. What was once a daily routine of logging onto io9 to read interesting shit has now become an infrequent, once or twice a week, fleeting visit. Ah well. At least this explains why

I know, right? I’m finding it kinda funny and perplexing at the same time.

Considering the scope and the nature of the character they are basing this on and what they have instead done with it, if this show lasts longer than Constantine I will sacrifice every single goat I can get my hands on in order summon all the demons in Hell and command them to make the Fox executives responsible for

That is literally the only reason I read this article. Dang it.

I remember when this show was at least a bit sciencey. Magic amulets. Hey ho. Still, I rather enjoyed the last few episodes. I guess that means I am coming to terms with Moffat’s run.

Why? Jayne is awesome! You couldn’t have Firefly without him...

I remember reading about her in a Cracked article and was awestruck by her heroics. Not hard to see why so many men fell head over heels for her. I never knew how it all ended for her though... what a downer. :-(

I think a link of some kind to provide context to the non-American readers would improve this article a tad. I had no idea what you were talking about until I scanned the comments.

I’m so glad someone else spotted that.

I can’t wait to see this but I don’t know how anything could top Pan’s Labyrinth for sheer beauty and heartbreak.

/applaud

I remember when aspergers was really making a noise a few years back and a lot of women I knew were asking me if their boyfriends might be on the spectrum because they were lazy, rude and thoughtless. Um, no, the more likely explanation is that they are dicks, sorry.

My first thought too.

They got me, click-hook, click-line and click-sinker. :-(
