It was definitely a lot less ‘in your face’ than most of his other work and it was a pretty interesting spin on the Avengers but so much of it had me rolling my eyes and thinking, often aloud, “WTF am I reading??” Especially those weird and lame celebrity references.

I think you might be giving Millar a bit too much credit by calling it ‘satire’.

That would be so amazing. I doubt they would do that but it would be such refreshing and unique approach; set it up as a series about a young Batman in his formative years and then pull the rug out from under people’s feet and reveal it is actually Owlman in his formative years. I remember reading about her in a Cracked article and was awestruck by her heroics. Not hard to see why so many men fell head over heels for her. I never knew how it all ended for her though... what a downer. :-(
