Agree. People love to beat up on him like some monster. He’s really not. He’s a famous person with some opinions that people disagree with strongly. There’s this weird thing happening here where once you decide you disagree with someone, you get to treat them like garbage and ascribe to them all kinds of stuff they

He’s not wrong about the alienation of young men. Pretending it’s not real and crapping on them as not being marginalized enough to have earned the right to feel bad is, frankly, really mean and heartless.

This seems to relevant here on Gizmodo. And interesting.

Are you kidding me? I’ve never heard ANYTHING but “catch a tiger by the toe.” It took this site to make it racist.

I’m wondering here how many people on this forum have actually seen or been part of an ESG audit / risk assessment. My guess: zero.

Seems sexist to make Pinhead into a female. I mean what’s the implication here? That females are the source of ultimate pain and torture? Do better, Hulu.

I have never had a bitter cucumber.

If you are a centrist or libertarian or simply a normal person who actually agrees with free speech, you don’t have many places to go that are dedicated to free speech per se. I -loathe- these guys, but I also am a strong free speech proponent, and generally believe there should be more free speech absolutist

Moving away from the colonialist tendency to have all chefs replicate “trendy” national dishes

Laughed really hard at this. Deep and hard.

Wow... Goatse..... like ..... how long has it been? Two decades??? More??????

Linda, hey total aside but: I really disagree with a lot of your thesis, but I want to give you serious kudos for engaging in the comments section with genuine intellectual integrity and openness. Like we’re not going to agree, but I agree that you are an honest broker of your ideas.

Nailed it

I used to play starwars battlefront years ago. Shot a LOT of stormtroopers. If we play this out, they all have backstories too. One of them is someone else’s friend, one of them had an interest in poetry, one of them had a person they loved. But also.... it’s a game.

But who ever actually said an entire race is evil and meant it to not have exceptions? I mean in real life, when people play, there are always exceptions. I think the first campaign I played one of the players at the table got permission from the DM to play a Gythyanki who had become a paladin for a god of love. Sure,

Because it depends on origin idea. If you live in a world where a species is “created by an evil god to reflect his will” then guess what.... that species reflects his will. You have to desperately -want- this to represent actual, real life races for this to be offensive. For the vast majority of people,

I just have never seen personal evidence of “racial coding” beyond like some random comments by one or two people in the ecosystem. And when those occur, it rarely translates into the actual players. You’d have to presuppose that because random game designer X used the term “easter” for example, that all the players

I agree if you are saying “race” but not species. I mean mind flayers eat the brains of sentient creatures for pleasure and sustenance. Can these be anything other than “evil.” And if you then go and say “well they shouldn’t do that, or at least it should be a choice” then aren’t you changing the whole point of a type
