Is this any surprise in the era of Peak Crazy? I mean, 1/3rd of the country is insane at this point (this cross cuts all political ties). This just seems -perfect- for our current zeitgeist.

For those that don’t know, Avatar is a popcorn flick, a summer blockbuster, and the first movie to shot, edited and rendered for the specific purpose of being viewed in 3d. It succeeded!”

“Long awaited” not the same as “long wanted.” The first one was so one dimensional and bland, with mustache twirling bad guys and incoherent logic. I dunno, it’s gonna take a lot of good writing to make me even wanna stream this.

Reading this I immediately know you’ve never taken a single course on western law.

Yes but that thinking doesn’t support THE MESSAGE.

A post-settler capitalist system didn’t take sustainability and viability for future oysters to spawn into consideration when harvesting for profit.”

1.8 million? For Facebook? I mean, that’s like less than their toilet paper budget, for sure.

This is always weird to me: I’ve always considered Mexican people as “white people” also? Like not that it matters because “skin color denominations” are pseudo scientific nonsense anyway, but like how much of your heritage has to be European before you are white or non white? And what if you are vastly of recent

Willful obtuseness? I’m not the idiot that literally said “Dude had to reach all the way back to the 17th century Puritanism for support of a ruling designed to affect 21st century lives.”  <--- which is literally the reason I pointed out that many of the rulings impacting our 21st century lives are based on 17th

This should be the Gizmodo motto.

I thank you.

Yes it is. The problem here is we have 2 different issues. 1. Abortion: should it be okay or not. 2. Is this a federal or state decision on certain merits?

Quite a few of the legal precedents that inform your life are based on English Common Law that goes back many centuries. Something being old doesn’t make it wrong.

Yo folks, look, assuming we disagree with the decision, pointing out that some previous decision was made by someone who ALSO MADE OTHER DECISIONS we don’t like is a canard. Previous judicial thinkers made some good arguments and some bad. Have you made only good arguments in your life? Have you only ever been right

There’s a difference between a space suit and say a jump suit. The Blue Origin suit is a jumpsuit. At the very least it is not meant to be worn in a non-atmospheric situation in any serious way. Feels weird to compare jumpsuits and spacesuits. They are super different and will have to be designed very differently.

Which is exactly the problem. Both Disco and Picard have characters that act kind of dumb. Like they make decisions because they are “just so tired” or “really emotional today.” It’s like shows about space highschool, not space adulting.

I’m just hoping it’s like a ship with actual professionals and not adult-children like in Discovery. “Hug-Trek” is done. Really finished with the “but my feelings!” version of Star Trek. Ready for something a little more adult, thanks.

Another way to frame this is “Intermittent fasting is JUST AS GOOD as standard diets.”  See how the editorial voice kind of matters there?

Honest question: If not for the influence here of deSantis and how he represents the right wing, would anyone here -actually- support the idea of a giant corporation having these special administrative benefits?

I mean, generally speaking I would assume most liberals and progressives would say “Hell No” if Tesla or
