Yeah, I think you’re right. Let’s call them the White Warriors.... that would... be better? Uh..... hm.

I don’t think that “one of the most basic rights of a human” is to be called what you want to be called. Might be one of the most basic courtesies, but that’s not what a right is. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that people -should- be called something different from what they like, but that’s not a right.

What is the group isn’t a race? Then they’re just.... wrong?

Stop body shaming people. It’s very problematic. I mean feel free to shame the evil part though.

Yet. No one is talking about that yet.

You mean like “white privilege?”

Slavs are not a race, it’s a linguistic group. That’s my only point.

I really really dislike fox news. But can you link me up to a single time anyone on fox news “complained that only black people can use the n-word?” Like, don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t shock me, but I would love to see an actual example of this rather than an anecdotal “of course they say that, right?” accusation.

Totally fine with ditching slave/master due to the connotations in American culture, but just as a historical note: Slave isn’t a racist term. It literally comes from reference to the Slavs (a white indo-European people), who were captured and regularly sold / traded by colonizing Norse & Viking groups between the 6th

It’s pretty obvious that light / dark (as in Day and Night) are the more likely root concepts behind this than anything having to do with skin color. White / Black are abstractions from this at best. It is the night that holds terrors, not the skin.

OK.

Genuine question: Why does her race and gender matter in the context of this article and title? She did something wrong and stupid and should be called out for it, but I guess I don’t know why the article couldn’t just be titled “Selfish Moron Defaces Nipsey Hussle Memorial?” I’d be less alarmed if the comments didn’t

Don’t forget the BEST STAR TREK on television right now: The Orville!

Yeah, the concept of the transporter is that it breaks apart your molecules, converts to energy, sends the energy to the target, where the molecules are re-assembled based on the snapshot of where you started. Essentially it kills you each time and then makes a new you. It’s a real bummer when you think about it. And

And don’t forget the BEST Star Trek currently on television:

At that exact moment an Uber driver pulls in, preventing Saylor from leaving the establishment. That allowed Merrill, who had come out of the bar, to catch up with Saylor.

Love the idea of this, but I find it pretty poor in a practical sense.

I’m very disturbed by the act of dismissing complaints based on the racial identity of the speaker. It’s one thing to talk about the specific characteristic of complaints and to note commonalities between the complaints, it’s quite another to start dismissing those complaints under a race-based label.

Exactly this.
