It's very popular and easy to demonize tech workers in SF, and for the most part, it's a bit ridiculous. Yes, there's an influx of money, and yes, it's pushing some of us out. On a broad scale, it's definitely a bummer, but it's ridiculous how residents want to demonize individuals. Some kid wants to code, went to

No, we don't give Smartphones to the homeless. If you're broke enough, you can get a subsidized dumbphone. This is no different than the old Lifeline program for landline phones, and it's a federal program. If you are homeless and miss enough health care appointments, the city may provide you with a dumbphone as well.

I'm looking to buy a Fiesta ST. Showed a pic of it to the girlfriend, she laughed.

Judging a person by what they drive, I mean, isn't that what gave birth to the internet forum in the first place? We all do it, to some extent or another, and it's mostly harmless.
Most of my judgements are along the lines of "that guy does not care about cars," or "wow, that red might blind me." The only purely

Agreed. Though, I'd like to blame Justin Smoak for something.
Kendrys Morales is out of a job, thanks Smoak!

Pre-publication, one of the writers there actually asked friends on facebook as to the preferred spelling, 'Merica won out. I'm a 'Merica guy myself.

I hate negotiating too. I am terrible at it. Happy to see you guys buy this. Even more excited to see the writeup about changing a headgasket in a parking garage.

Current pricing shows most people agree with you, including myself. There's nothing unloved about the notchback.

Wow, you're writing at night. Wow. This is exciting. Other writers here try to be esoteric. Some try to be the I'm the Young Old White Guy. Some try to be journalists. But you, You, are legitimately weird, legitimately creative, and a talented comedy writer. PS YOU SUCK. Sorry, just had to balance out the positives

There aren't many that match up already, but those house sigils could easily be appropriated into car badges. Alfa Romeo, Cadillac, Porsche, and Saab already look like sigils/family crests as is. (They probably are.) Maserati with the trident is sort of seafaring, so Greyjoy. Good call on Peugeot. All this got me to

So that's where I got the idea! Of course you've already done the cars of each house. Could use more Pinzgauer, but besides that, spot on.

If you haven't already, would love to see you turn the house sigils into automotive emblems on house-appropriate cars.

In the Bay Area, it's not a Five Point Oh, it's a Fifty.
It's not a Notchback, it's a Highway.
While I've accepted the highway term, fifty still bugs me.

In my downtime (there is a lot of it) I search the local craigslist for 5.0s and Typhoons. One of these days I'll actually buy one. 63 horsepower in my life is no

Shaking my damn head.

42 doesn't seem so high to me, though I guess for the year you could consider it high.
I love that blue. Not sure if I could pull it off, I'm one of those boring black or white guys. I think the white makes it look a bit pudgy, so I'm leaning toward black.
Not to sound too dumb, but what is CA?
Thanks for the replies,

Did you buy private or dealership? 25 for a 2011 seems pretty good. Anything I should look out for when shopping for one? For me, I'm sure the stock setup is more than good enough for my driving abilities.

It fits the small and fun equation I am looking for, and it looks better than the ST. I bet the 128i is more than enough car for me, honestly, I'm just greedy. When it comes to actually spending, we'll see.

This is what I would like to know, as well. More specifically, would I have more fun with a 135 or with a Fiesta ST? I only drive a few thousand miles a year, so buying either would be dumb, so I'm afraid to test drive them and get hooked. But still, I really like the 135, and the Fiesta ST just seems bonkers fun.

Whenever I see a Baja Bug with big knobby tires riding around the city, I think, here's a person who was driving a bug and thought, this thing isn't slow enough. Needs more tire.

Wow, you answered all three. Much appreciated. Will definitely look into Dave Lane's work.
