Difference between the $75 shoes that last and the $200 shoes is that the $75 ones will usually be done when they’re worn. The $200 pair can be reconditioned, re-soled and such, and are usually intended to be repaired rather than replaced.

It’s like looking at average income instead of median. There’s only so low car sales can go, but the sky is the limit in terms of pricing. An average of $30k means you have 15 $17k Corollas with a Bentley thrown in there. 16 cars, all worth a little more than half of the average, with one thrown in to bring it up to…
It’s like BMW’s Germany delivery option. Except the car is American, so you fly domestically to get it.
A few weeks ago I saw an R32 sedan near my house, and was more excited when I see the coupes. Once I got to work I was frantically trying to find one to trade in my wife’s Malibu on.
I’ve always thought of it as a sort of Brutalist take on a car, especially in the gray that was posted.
The mid 90’s Camrys and late 90’s Lexuses suffered big time from this. Makes the cars seem a lot older than they are.
And on top of it, many won’t do the work if you bring in a part you bought yourself. I understand there’s the risk of the part failing and blame/liability could be difficult to assign if something went south, but flat out refusing instead of simply having a liability waiver seems like too much. Some work is difficult…
Dihydrogen monoxide will be the death of us all!
Not that it’d be my choice, but that Enzo was the last one produced and was gifted to and blessed by the pope. I think that deserves mention alone!
Look into Substantially Equal Periodic Payments... 401ks and IRAs alike allow distributions prior to 55, provided the distributions are relatively equal. Basically means you draw a salary from your savings, which is the plan of most people when they retire early anyways.
Not sure what vehicles were involved in that, but at an average value of $15,000 that’d put it as number six in the rankings.
I can’t believe I had to come this far down for Rut. The dude has one of the most Jalop car collections around. 83 Civic Wagon, 66 VW Bus double-cab pickup, 90’s GM Wagon with an Impala SS front end swap, and a 49 Chevy step van with a 525hp LS3. Please ignore the bro truck.
Ha, I was thinking the same thing. The NGK’s were like $8 compared to the $6 for Bosch or whatever else for my Spec V. And the NGK’s are a preferred product.
It’s kind of mind blowing too, at how people view fitness as this grueling, unenjoyable thing. Yes, if you go running or lift weights and don’t actually enjoy that, then it’ll be awful and you won’t want to do it (though of course, many people do enjoy this.) But it’s just as easy to do something you enjoy and stay…
I’m in the same boat. I work only 6 miles away and my wife works at home, so in the summer I bike and in the winter I ended up taking her 05 Malibu more than my Sentra Spec V (garage parking in Chicago means no car warm up period or clearing snow, but only room for 1 car.) In November I sold my car after realizing it…
