we had a kid (senior in HS) run away from home last semester and he sent an email to the school counselor from an internet cafe in Beijing (about 2 hours drive away, 20million people) - if his parents had his email password they could have logged in and checked the previous IP address and I could have given that to

Meh, for 27 years old that's a BMI of 20.5 right in the "healthy" category, the ideal weight for her height and age is 117lbs, so maybe "a bit" but certainly not small to XL difference.

It's really the same over here in China too. My wife (5'4", 120~lbs) is a large or XL here, and it freaking wreaks havoc on her psyche because she's a small in America. It also doesn't help that Chinese people are constantly calling her fat. She's not, but all foreign women are to the Chinese.

the most important thing is to make sure that it has an easy, but strong action. You should be able to operate the device with one hand.

I'd like to find a non-gloss alternative for whiteboards as we generally tend to use them in tandem with projectors. A matte finish would eliminate the glare you get from the projector (and overhead lights, windows, etc...)

that's actually a good thing- you don't want laws for specific technologies, you want them to be applicable. For example if they said "512 bit AES encryption" it would be cool until they decided to talk about "1024 bit" etc... Or a safe, or whatever comes after the internet.

replace magnet with thermite and have you have a decent system.

sorry, "labor" was the wrong word - I mean all employees. the number one cost of any business is employees, not raw materials, not land/leases, not travel, not suppliers, etc...

"the fact is labor is less important to a company's bottom line than supply chains are."

Doubletwist player for Mac will sync your iTunes playlists and does a *decent* job of it.

I prefer "we noticed activity and don't have evidence of stolen data" to "by the way all your information was stolen a few weeks back, we've just verified it." *cough* sony *cough*

it's nearly universal, in hollywood, for some people.

Worms 2 was definitely the best, I remember anxiously waiting for Armageddon to come out and being severely disappointed because all the weapons were way too powerful and I felt like the strategy was really removed in favor of just lobbing heavy explosives and homing stuff..

I still have my copy of Worms 2 - and I'll crack it out every now and again, it's just too bad all their servers are offline :(

this is nice but the one thing that this lacks is the "ecosystem" you get with Google like embedding docs or maps in Gmail, etc...

This really is something that I'd like to learn more about, just for my own interests (like I said, I don't want it professionally) . Seems to me, at least as a casual observer, the majority of dev here falls into two categories:

Oh, I know there's more going on - I was just saying what's happening in the wangbas, unless development actually takes place in PC rooms @_@

just out of curiousity - what do you do in the Chinese game industry? I'd love to meetup with you guys and talk story, just to get introduced to the scene (not looking for a job or anything, just some cool people in Beijing)

XBL works, one of my employees has a Japanese 360 and plays online, dunno about PSN - I sold my PS3 before moving here a few years ago and nobody else has one here that I know.

Yeah I live in China - here's what's happening in PC rooms around here:
