Statistically speaking, we live in a very non-violent time, it doesn’t feel that way thanks to social media and the 24 hour news cycle. That we’re more aware of violence occurring doesn’t mean that more violence is occurring. Violent crime has been on the decline since the 90s.

Coroners and ME are not technically the same thing. Coroners are elected officials who may or may not have medical training. Medical examiners are doctors who have trained extensively and know how to correctly perform an autopsy and collect evidence.
