I was going to make fun of him for not knowing how many screws are in his arm, but then I realized that I can’t remember how many are in mine. It’s between 10 - 12 (I am pretty sure it’s 12). Maybe the two of us can start a club.

Degrassi the next generation had a fairly diverse cast (aka the show that Drake starred on as a kid)
He actually is a brilliant surgeon. He pioneered a few procedures and is generally respected within the medical community. I believe he successfully separated two conjoined twins, which is an incredibly difficult procedure. He’s a great example of someone who is good at a very specific niche and assuming he can do…
“if something challenges their world view (like feminism), they dismiss it out of hand, because they are SMART and have never seen/experienced/engaged with X, it must not be a thing. But plenty of people who are intellectually accomplished in one area are completely dumb in other areas of their lives.”
I think about this during ever state of the Union address. “We got to protect our phony balogna jobs people!” That and “this bill will be a giant step forward in the treatment of the insane gambler!”
Agreed. That animal looked stressed the fuck out.
Sorry! Migraine make brain not work good.
I think it’s a combination of factors. First, civics used to be widely taught in 60's and 70's, either in history or as a separate course. That isn’t the case as much anymore. If the information isn’t learned as a kid, it’s less likely that a person will pick it up later in life. Anecdotally, I know that taking AP…
If I were to back someone in the fight between a middle aged American with a fire arm and no military or weapons training versus a militant with military training who views death as a reward, I am going to have to back the militant. Sorry Rubio. You and the other wannabe commandos would be dead meat in such a stand…
Isn’t that just a code phrase for “chronically unemployed”?
My mom and younger brother started reading the books together when he was 7. I think it was a good age to start and it was a good bonding activity for the two of them. As a Much Older and Sophisticated 13 year old, I devoured them in my room and pretended I didn’t care about them in public. Teenagers: they’re The…
Offensive comedy is lazy comedy. It requires so little thought that drunk frat boys can pull it off. Offensive comedians aren't funny or brave; they're just sad and boring and lack the spine or conviction to go after the people in power.
I wasn’t referring to Jenner. I find Gervais overall to be tedious and unfunny. He thinks being outrageous and controversial makes him edgy and funny. In reality his humor is boring and he takes anyone who doesn’t find him funny as a personal affront. It’s rather sad.
Thank you. Gervais and comedians like him don’t seem to understand that to be funny you need to punch up, not down. Making fun of disenfranchised people is cheap and lazy.
*I didn’t know alcoholic root beer was a thing until last Tuesday. So. Damned. Good. OMG.
I wasn’t formally invited to mine, but the impression I got was that it was planned at the last minute. I think details went out via Facebook/word of mouth. I have such a deep abiding love of the town i attended high school in that I’ve spent the majority of my post collegiate years on the other side of the state and…
“When are you guys getting married?” is right up there with “When are you guys having kids?” as the rudest fucking question you can ask a couple.
“3) I am trying to get my apartment really clean and organized. This is something I’m having trouble with. (It’s not like an episode of hoarders by any means, but it’s still overwhelming.) I would really like some suggestions! Please and thank you.”
I’m having a glass of pinot and working up the willpower to study reaction mechanisms for my organic chemistry final on Thursday. I am too old for this shit :(
And put it in the British Museum and say “We’re better equipped to care for these treasures.”
