It would help if we looked to other countries for inspiration. In Israel and the Czech Republic, for example, there are just far fewer gender issues attached to studying math and the sciences. Maybe because science education is taught at much higher levels at a much earlier age than in the U.S.

@Understater: French, Czech, Slovak, Hebrew, Polish, Italian, and Cary Grant.

@Caitfish: Hold the phone. This went on all day in New York, too. Nearly every train I was on had about 10 Santas...and a bunch of confused kids.

@Ailatan: I am so offended by the photoshopping of La Streep in the promo posters that I refuse to see the thing on principle. Her eyes aren't like that! Hmph.

@BetteD: Yes. This photo isn't doing anything to tamp down my massive crush on Mrs. O. Not one bit.

@heavymetalkarma: Freeze cheese. Slice. Let thaw. Drink wine. Problem solved.

@Maharani: There are some pretty cool jump drives out now in the shape of Lego blocks, etc. Trust me, programmers never seem to be able to have too many of these.

Hello there, littlest Von Trapp!

@annina9: Feminists are a convenient scapegoat for more than a few social problems...in more than a few countries.

I got off the expensive-perfume merry-go-round last year (while unemployed), and now have a shelf full of completely unique stuff from this shop: [www.etsy.com] (No, I'm not affiliated with the shop.) Big Sur and Liquid Sunshine are my 2 favorites.

@hortense: My husband does this, and it drives me nuts because he purposely pushes all those clouds of CK Whatever toward me. A little spritz'll do ya!

@RenoMartini: Every town should have one of these. :)

@SmaženýSýr: Well, let's see if that comment shows up *this* way...

@emdy: Oh, hey, my fiance and I did this to his parents (who did not speak English) and we ended up having an awesome wedding, the families love each other, and we just celebrated our 5th anniversary. Courage! ;)

@Bhangb3b3: Wait for the Nook (Barnes & Noble) or the Apple tablet. (The Nook has a color multitouch screen and supports ePub formats, which are the industry standard (aside from Kindle, which dominates the market but is proprietary).

@trikota: Holy crap, that was awesome.

@AgnesGrep: I hopped back and forth between both; I like the Wordpress look a bit better (more streamlined), but Blogger can be easier to use if you're working with pictures. Tumblr is easiest—and newest—of all, though, with some nice templates. Just spend some time browsing on each until you find a good fit. :) Good
