@fakezen: I usually slack off too much for this, but I just read a snarky article by an agent who said, "Don't send me any NaNoWriMo pitches; they're crap"—as though, "How dare those little people actually commit to writing in between their (gasp) day jobs and then send me their query letters"—and I thought, BITE ME,

And yet VF apparently felt the need to Photoshop her. WTF?

@JessaFields: Another publishing person here, seconding this. If your audience is big enough, PDF it, stick it on a website, and sell it. But research price points for ebooks a bit, first. Or, for print, try Lulu.

@SUNNY1: I have a friend who majored in WGSS; she now helps write policy at the federal level in the Australian government, advocating for women's and indigenous rights. Pretty awesome, if you ask me. :)

Jeez, Getty, what's with all the "unknown"s? State Dept. Flickrstream FTW.

Dashes, I like. Em dashes, however, I love.

Number 5 features sandals with socks, no? I take it Burberry's muse this year is German men over 45?

"Madonna: A Rare and Candied Interview"

@RollRoll: David Sedaris confessed last month in a New Yorker chat that he was a shut-in. Not bad company, I'd say.

@owsley: I love this one: RendezVousBijoux

@SarahMC: I'm not sure whom you're addressing, but neither woman is recommending anyone take a vacation from SSRIs. Aretha states that she's *heard* of people doing it; her mother notes that it can be problematic. Try reading closely.

@phalenopsis: I have a giant F on my grad school transcript and it has yet to rear its ugly head in any interview.

@mycena: Vent away. Even if you had to move to Taiwan to find out, it's better to find out early if you're not compatible. My sympathies... Will the move still work for you?

@Penny: Pantone! I'm this close to buying some of their merch. Not sure why—I'm not in graphic arts. Probably for the same reason I kill whole evenings on Adobe's Kuler site. Happy weekend. :)

@GirlyQ ain't a-marchin' anymore: Bon Appetit, New Yorker, Atlantic. I love Real Simple, but their full-on be-fruitful-and-multiply ethos is too much for me.

@dj_chick: I adore Noodle Village (13 Mott Street, Chinatown) for soup dumplings...and basically all other kinds of dumplings.

@Laines: Yeah, there was nothing for me up until a couple hours ago. I thought it had been a rather extreme way of going dark for Labor Day—like, no-content dark. It did seem strange. But yay, it's back to normal!

@szuperremek: I think this is a taste acquired during childhood; I tried it once and couldn't do it. ;)
